Saved up 500 for a gun, will probably just be a range gun and won't day to day carry so it just has to be a fun gun to shoot and won't crap out on me. Any recommendation?

Do you really need other people to tell you what to like?

>Any recommendation?

The rule of handguns #1 is get the one that you're most comfortable with. If it doesn't fit nicely in your hand, it's going to be a bitch to learn to shoot accurately.
>>
>>28442852
A Makarov or a Tokarev would both fit your requirements. Zastava and I think Norinco make Tokarev clones, so surplus isn't your only option.
>>
>>28442852
go to a range that rents guns
try out everything
buy what you like.

if you can't try before you buy for some reason, fingerfucker every gun in the store and buy what feels the best. I really fucking like my beretta, as does most everyone I know that's used one, with the exception of one dumbass noguns that thinks the 1911 is the only gun worth owning.
>>
>>28442852
I just bought your pic related today and I fucking love everything about it
>>
>>28443056
kek didn't anyone tell you you're not supposed to like the slide safety? or that the trigger sucked? or that it's too big for such a puny round? come on, anon
>>
Beretta 92 or glock anything

Comedy option is a 1911 in anything that isn't .45

Rock Island 1911

Fuck you. I'm gonna try to get ahold of one this weekend. I don't even know why I thought of it at first.

>>
>>28442852

If it's your first, I would suggest something in 9mm. .45's are fun but cost about twice as much as 9mm to shoot. My choice in your price range would be the Smith & Wesson M&P or a used Glock 19.

24 cpr isn't double 17 cpr.

Look at the FNS 9 and m&p 9 if you want to save money. Excellent guns.

1911s are great. Get an RIA.
>>
I like my CZ PO7 duty.

Honestly though just go to your local store and finger fuck a bunch of stuff in your price range. Pick what ever you find most comfortable.
>>
>>28442914
2nd. Don't listen to the memers on here telling you how horrific the grip/trigger is. I tried it out in the store and it was my favorite out of the m&p, PPQ, VP9, XD, CZ PO7, Sig P250, and so many others I can't even remember. At least give it a chance.
>>
>>28442973

2nd this. many larger ranges have a "package deal" that lets you rent like 4 guns at a time to get a feel for each of them
>>
Sig Sauer P320/in either 9mm or 357 Sig

Full size of course
>>
>>28444408

Cheapest 9mm available on the web is 15 cents a round. Cheapest .45 auto on the web is 24 cents a round. So you can get 1.6 rounds of 9mm for every round of .45

That adds up pretty quick if you're planning on stockpiling.
>>
>>28445596
>Cheapest 9mm available on the web is 15 cents a round.
really? show me this 15 cpr 9mm.
>>
I was thinking of getting a ruger lcr or a judge(want too try and handle both before I decide) or looking into getting a good used S&W revolver for my first gun. My friend(a lib) wants too buy his first gun as well, something small and most likely 9mm. Got any recommends for him(or me while your at it), I already sent him the sticky guide and the /k/ first 9mm pic.

Cz75
Glock
Makarov
Rock island armory 1911
Ruger p89 series

These are all fantastic guns. If I were you I would just roll with a cz75. A lot of people like these, and there's a big enough aftermarket.

My brother has a Smith & Wesson 659, might be a 639, said it has a large mag before a ban on it, was wondering if I could buy it and have it signed over too me or not(in Texas) also what would be a good price offer too him, don't wanna fuck him on a price.

>>
>>28446183
Get some trigger time behind it if you can. I hate the trigger on those old smith autos
>>
$500 will get you all sorts of things.

> RIA / ATI Import 1911s
> Cz 75b
> Glock brand Glocks of all kinds
> S&W M&P
> Walther PPS / PPK
> Ruger p89 / LC9 / etc.
> Taurus Pt92, Pt1911, 24/7 G2. The Taurus Curve is a neat little carry gun.

9mm FMJ is cheapest to stockpile compared to 40 or 45. Armchair commandos like to debate stopping power all day long for JHP rounds, but hard to go wrong with something simple like Speer Gold Dot (Used by FBI, NYPD, many others) if you want to keep something loaded for self defense around

should I bother with a pawnshop for a gun? I personally want too carry a few small guns, like a snubnose and maybe a pocket pistol.
>>
>>28447333
The only case when pawnshop makes sense is when you know what you're doing, and know it very well. Otherwise, you will get ripped off.

What should I do senpai? What could I do too not get jewed?
>>
>>28447580
i suggest browsing first then look them up according to current sell prices online, you don't want to walk into a pawn shop then ask a lot of questions about a gun you saw in display, they will try to convince you that it will be the best price you will ever get when in reality you paid way over the actual suggested price...that's just me tho...

CZ, Glock, Sig 2022, Beretta, M&P, Ruger.
Literally a lot of companies offer solid guns at the $500-600 range, what really matters is what shoots good and comfortable for you.
Fingerfuck and hold guns at a store. Rent some out to shoot at ranges. Decide, then buy.

CZ-75
EAA/Tanfoglio Witness Match Elite
Beretta 92FS (pictured)
Walther PPQ/PPQ M2
Sig P320 or SP2022
FN FNS-9 or FNX-9
Ruger American or SR9L
Glock 17
S&W M&P 9

Those are all guns I own or have owned in that price-range, ranked from how I personally liked them.

Mind you, all of them are great guns and have been 100% reliable. I personally found myself fond of the Tanfoglio simply because it performed and didn't feel like a $500 gun, it felt like a $1000 gun. Berettas are good fun, and I would also advise looking at the Px4 series as well.

Just find a rental range, and find one you like. You should be happy with any of those purchases.

Oh, also add the Lionheart LH9/Daewoo DP51/K5 to that. Fantastic and robust guns based off the old S&W 59x series of pistols. A bit more expensive and more niche, but great guns overall. The Lionheart is just a modern production version of the DP51 with a cerakoted finish, 1913 rail, and a few bits that make it just a bit better than the old milsurp/commercial export DP51s.

1. Turn 21
