The guide to cleaning up cosmoline off a crate rifle:
Wipe it down with paper towels
Field strip it
Remove the furniture [caution if it's a PU or Finnish]
Sweat out the furniture in a trash can with a light bulb in it
Rub the steel bits down with Sheath, once done with paper towels
Run about elebenty patches down the bbl, ending with Hoppes then Sheath
