It's more like 'if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, claim that it's actually prowling and growling like a wolf but the biased white man's media wants to pretend wolves only exist in the wilds so they call these particular wolves ducks, exemplifying their quadrupedal privilege'

If you say you don't support Sanders they don't try to convince you that you should vote for him, they try to convince you that you are a bad person simply by disagreeing with him.

It's not about educating people, it's about who can be the most smug.

In the united States at least, libertarians keep siding with republicans.

And there is certainly a libertarian bent to some aspects of the conservatives, namely the teaparty guys. But only for certain aspects of big government, Tea party guys tend to be social/religious conservatives too, it makes me think they are only for small government because of the democrat in the white house rather than any sort of ideological stance. And even then they are for big government military. I think they are just a veiled version of the religious conservatives that supported Bush in the early 2000s, now wrapped in pseudo-libertarian-ish rhetoric.
>>

That's because of the two, Republicans are the least shit. There are far more small-gov't Repubs than are there small-gov't liberals (if those even exist!)

>>
>>28429945
I was one of those liberals, and for an essay during Freshman year of college I had to do a report on "gun violence in America". While most other kids half-assed their reports, I went all-out... did extensive research, went to gun stores, ranges, shows, etc.

That project and my hypothesis of gun owners being a scourge to America and progressive values ended up backfiring. By the end of it, I had a completely changed view... a year later I ended up buying my first rifle (Ruger 10/22).

Ended up failing the project because my prof wouldn't have any of it, and because the thesis of my project completely underminded the hypothesis, she failed me.
>>

>Ended up failing the project because my prof wouldn't have any of it, and because the thesis of my project completely underminded the hypothesis, she failed me.

Well, you learned two lessons:

1. Higher education has no room for free thought. You must toe the progressive line.

That's the rub, the opinions are bad, too. Like I said, BS is an okay guy. He seems genuine. He's just not going to become president because he's not good enough to be president. His ideas don't have a basis in reality. With that said, it'd be easy enough to ignore him if his constituency didn't scream everyone's ears off 24/7 about how great he is and how much you hate everybody else if you're even THINKING of not voting for him.

KEK

So many guys I know from noguns households have gone and got them. I think the main reasons are:

>vidya getting popular
>more exposure in the media (thanks liberals)
>decent prices on stuff like ARs
>wide availability of hardware and information through the internet

Really I think it's one of the big draws of the Republican Party today, along with fiscal and (mild) social conservatism
>>
>>28432354
Well guess what, that's because Democrats are the party of big federal government.

Republicans want to cut spending and reduce the scope of government, not increase it. The one aspect of the fed government they wholly support, the military, is firmly entrenched as one of the key responsibilities of the Federal government.

That said I would like to see our military being used to actually gain territory for our people again, not pissing away our money in some shithole that will never return anything of value

>>28434912

ISIS/Daesh already HAS captured the imagination of disaffected Western youth. It's just that the potency of their dogma (and thus the threat they pose to Western civilization) is generally overstated.

The US and Europe have already sent hundreds of white converted Muslims to Syria. And really the ISIS/Daesh ideology is unlikely to attract anything beyond that scale, because it is simply too radical and unrelated to the vast majority of people.

Here's a problem of comparable scale that you can put it next to. Mass shootings in the US. Broadly speaking, perpetrators of these crimes are drawn from the same pool of disaffected, isolated, mentally unstable losers that ISIS/Daesh preys on. Subsequently, the media goes to portray the acts of this fringe demographic as "muh crisis!!!!" and advocates for curbs on personal freedom when in reality no, there's no crisis. We have a problem with a few individuals that do abhorrent things, but that's it.
>>
>>28435124

>That said I would like to see our military being used to actually gain territory for our people again
What territory do you want, mate? South America? Africa? A chunk of Asia?

Unless the US commits to total genocide of conquered populations, nowhere that could be conquered is going to be amenable to permanent occupation and annexation. And that kind of mass slaughter will simply never be permitted, nor should it I think. And even if you were to recolonize say, the Levant, or the Caribbean, do you know how awful that would be to defend from mass migration? Consider the existing crisis on the southern border with Mexico. Now imagine millions of Arabs taking advantage of the 14th Amendment.

I'd say your only real option is to take over your hat, and I say this as a Canadafag. But I'm hopeful for peaceful integration in that case anyway.

>the way ISIS did for Muslims.
But it doesn't. It's not some revolutionary or fresh thing, Daesh is simply more successful than the other groups, which are now completely overshadowed by it. It's only natural that Daesh would now siphon the majority of moronic recruits that would otherwise have joined Al Qaeda or Girl Scouts, or whatever. They don't believe any differently.

>We've got a hell of a lot more disaffected youth for one...
I don't think you do. There are more Muslims living below the poverty line than there are Christians living below it, by virtue of most Christians living in the prosperous west, and most Muslims living in developing countries. So, surely, there'd be more disaffected Muslim youth.

While Daesh does get some sick people from the west, most of their recruits aren't from there.
