A tradition of homos in warfare goes back to the dawn of civilization, after all.

The US is ignoring everything they learned in iraq/afghanistan, and going back to buying upgraded humvees.

So the only decently armored vehicle they have is an abrams. Something too damn heavy & eats too much gas.
>>
>>28427670
Wrong. Buttfucking is not the same as homos.

Men have been fucking each others butts since the dawn of time.

But homo is an identity. That's why they cause so many problems. They think they're special, so everything has to be unique and special for them.

This is a problem when a group of men must work together seamlessly in order to kill lots of people.

Downsizing the military actually presents considerable opportunity for improvement over its current state as a jobs agency.

Consider, if we:

1.) Raise physical and mental standards across the board so the military only takes outstanding individuals who all or mostly have the potential to become superb soldiers (I know the military is already supposedly "above-average" in terms of intelligence compared to the rest of the population, but...)
2.) Greatly reduce the number of non-NCO enlisted and non-academy junior officers, since most of them can be retrained or replaced within a few months time if the need arises.
3.) Retain all of the NCOs. Unlike the rest of the enlisted and your average OCS butterbar, the experience and leadership they bring to the table cannot quickly or easily be produced from nothing in a time of war.
4.) Privatize most of the POG jobs in peacetime, possibly permanently depending on results. Related to point 2, there is no reason to take some unmotivated chump off the street, spend over $100,000 putting him through the training to be a cook for 4 years, and then spending millions on the benefits package he has for the rest of his life compared to how cheaply you can do the same thing by letting the private sector take care of it.
5.) Retain most of the advanced weapons programs. Like with the NCOs, the projects that Boeing, Lockheed, Raytheon etc are working on cannot be mothballed or terminated and then easily restarted. While they only things those companies can do is make cost-inefficient advanced weapons systems, cost-inefficient advanced weapons systems are necessary to win modern wars. That isn't to say we shouldn't try and reduce fraud, waste, and corruption, but letting them go under or, god forbid, going overseas would be a disaster.

Making all of the above changes would cut off most of the gristle in the current military to make it leaner and more efficient, while still leaving it the means to easily bulk up quickly.
>>
>>28427890
But the military is just cutting combat troops, and keeping all the fat.

I think they need more budget cuts even. Eventually it'll force them to start cutting the fat off.

>>
>>28427984
Not to defend liberals, but both parties are at fault when it comes to how fucked up our immigration problems currently are. Both parties supported the passage of the 1965 and 1990 bills that moved us away from immigration quotas, and Ronald Reagan extended an extralegal grand amnesty to 3 million illegals that only encouraged more of them to come here.
>>

It's a great book and you won't put it down after picking it up. Like most business books, it's shoot and too the point. The authors use some relevant examples from the war on terror and how those situations apply to in the business world.

In most ways, 4chan is really a starfish organization.

>>
>>28428348
Spider organizations are what we're really used to. A starfish is really disruptive and has a tactical advantage in the business world or on the battlefield. The way you think about how things are structured and how that spider mentality makes an organization slow and lethargic will have you seeing everything in new ways.

Although a bit old now, Wikinomics and The Wisdom of Crowds are two other good reads. Yeah. Also USN has let their ASW and MCM ability atrophy to the point where they are incompetent at it now. Mines and subs have always killed way more ships than other ships ever did.

Except the fact that the SSK gets wrecked in return fire.

Trading a diesel boat for a carrier is a bigwin. But it's the equivalent of trading a knight or bishop for the opponents' queen.

And no commander, under threat of mutiny, wants to die on his submarine.
>>
>>28429154
We both know you can't do that since women in military are there only to make the military and the politicians look good and "modern". It has absolutely nothing to do with efficiency or practicality. If it did they'd have exactly the same buzzcuts/short hair as everybody else.
>>
>>28427890
>raise physical standards
Physical standards for men are fine. The fatasses you see do not meet them. What we need is 100%, and 100% uniform, enforcement of the current standards. Female standards needs to be done away with entirely. They meet the unilateral standard just like everyone else.
>mental standards need to be raised
I dont think so, I just think they need a better and more comprehensive method of testing for it and a limit on how frequently the test can be taken to eliminate the people who get in by the "throw enough shit at a wall something will stick eventually" method. Also government funded asvab prep courses need to go.

>physical standards
You think so? I had heard that there was an endemic problem of messed up knees and backs among the guys who had been doing regular patrols in Afghanistan. That being said, I do agree with you that having different standards for men and women is the worst kind of counterproductive political doublespeak.

>mental standards
A better testing method is only part of the solution, and the practice you describe of preparing for the test in order to get a better score is the mark of a better candidate and not a worse one. The reason mental standards should be high for all positions in the military, even for your typical chin-scratching Muhreen rifleman, is because more intelligent soldiers are more likely to refuse unethical orders and take their oath to uphold the Constitution seriously as compared to William Calley-tier dumbfucks.

>But academy grads make some of the worst leaders!

West Point alone has produced most of our country's most illustrious and capable military leaders. If you discard them and all of the other academy graduates as worthless, from where are we getting all of the actual "good" leaders?

>Theyre the high-politics asskissers causing all the problems!

You seem to forget that the military exists as a part of American society and not independently of it. The brass has some leeway when it comes to how a policy might be implemented, but the policies themselves are drafted by politicians/the public. Going along with said policies is non-negotiable due to civilian control of the military. In light of that, the detrimental influence of mainstream cultural mores on the military establishment is in large part abated by the traditionalism and conservatism of the professional officer class.

Probably burning trash instead of burying it, and PTSD suicides.

Just saying, more vets died in WWII after the war ended by suicide, alcohol related incidents and "Cancer" in 10 years following the war then all those that died during it.
It has proven true again in GWOT and Vietnam.
The Soviet Union had similar problems with their guys coming back from Afghanistan and WWII, but in WWII it was more of a 3 died in the war to 1 suicide/cancer/alcoholism ratio.

I am not besmerching the actions or playing down the danger of our solders/marines/air force queers, but the no alcohol policy in AF and Iraq literally keep entire divisions free of the drunk driving deaths, drugs, and other causes that come with using cars. Infact, the death rate from all causes was reduced in Iraq and AF per head then having that service member stateside. But like I said before, the war ends and they leave the uniform and that is when the real danger for them begins.

I'm not an expert but to me we have an incredibly small army and Marines given what we ask of them. If we fought an enemy with good anti-armor and anti-helicopter weapons and training our casualties would be higher than we've seen since Vietnam, and then what? Our military has grown accustomed to amazing intel all the time and being able to fly everywhere with little danger. Look at the air losses in Vietnam and imagine that today, it'd be unsustainable, and that was North Vietnam doing that.
