>mfw people are paying the price of a Ruger American or Savage Axis and claiming that the nugget is still superior as prices continue to rise as does ammo

How do the SKS poorfags feel about them now costing roughly $100 less than a WASR at this point?
>>
>>28426537
You got ripped off. Surplus is 30 cents per round here, bottom of the barrel Tulammo is 40.
>>
>>28426556
Tul ammo from Walmart. 12 something after tax for a box of 20
>>
>>28426567

Listen newfag.
Nobody in their right mind claims the nugget is superior to much of anything.

The nugget was only ever popular because you could get it and a bunch of ammo for like $160, it was milsurp, and the rounds were powerful enough to kill shit.
And also because it came with a bayonet.

>inb4 I'm not a newfag
If you'd been here by at least 2012, I wouldn't have to explain this shit to you.
>>
>>28426610
>2012 was 7 years ago
God I feel old.
>>
>>28426610
lol, I've been here since well before 2012 and my post was rhetorical. And yes, there are people who still claim the nugget is superior to modern production bolt actions.

There are people who still defend buying SKSs and Nuggets even at their current prices. But you don't have to take my posts so seriously. Thanks for the (You) though.

That's your problem. Should have gotten some surplus from a gun store. .30c/round is the worst I've had to pay.

>>28426567
SKS is fun and I like collecting guns. So I don't really give a shit.

>>28426610

This. Fuck me. Nugget is still one of the cheapest guns around though.

I only said 2012 because that's when nugget prices started going up, and when nugget threads started to decline, in my experience.

But of course you were only looking for a chance to shitpost, so whatever.

>There are people who still defend buying SKSs and Nuggets even at their current prices.
$350 for an SKS still isn't terrible. I've never heard anyone defend buying a mosin for more than $200 though. I think you're making that up.
>>
>>28426989
I think it's just slavaboos who refuse to concede to budget rifles like the Ruger American or Savage Axis.
>>
>>28426994
whatever justifies your persecution complex, friend.
>>
>>28426994
Personally, I always thought that those just looked boring tbqh
>>
>>28426994
Not everyone likes polymer and fudd stocks. It's not all about quality. People own guns because they're cool, not just because they do something the best. Anyway, even though slavshit ammo will always be the cheapest, there are cheaper bolt action surplus rifles like south american mausers that are very good as well. Surplus will have its own niche as long as it's still in circulation.
>>
>>28426537
It's like 21 cents a round on gunbot wtf are you doing?

How fo I join the cmp?
>>
>>28427163
why not both
>>
>>28427251
Join a club that is an affiliate. Or make a "club" and apply for affiliation. Military is automatically considered affiliated. NRA and GOA (Gun Owners of America) are both affiliates. NRA is bigger but I like the GOA a bit more. Though on the flip side I also don't know a ton about the GOA, I'm still reading up on them and some of the stuff they do.
>>
>>28426567
Pretty good actually, I only stand to gain if I sell it.
>>
>>28427340
This is bad info.
Nra is not a cmp affiliated club
Just look at the cmps website for joking requirements.
I also bought 10 cans of 192 rounds of 30-06 in clips in bandits for 115$ each shipped

Alright, had to walk do so that's what took so long. Anyway, my confusion came from the mix up between NRA at the national and state level. From the CMPs website:
>Q.
>IF I AM A MEMBER OF THE NRA MAY I PURCHASE FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION FROM YOUR FACILITIES?

>A.
>Membership in the NRA, at the national level, does not satisfy our requirements that customers be members of a CMP affiliated club or organization. The NRA at the national level is not an affiliate. Most of the NRA state associations have affiliated with the CMP and do satisfy the requirement.

Last I checked the local NRA club was an affiliate. So hey, confusion cleared.

The Ruger American and Savage Axis aren't that cheap when you include the cost of a scope because they don't make the damn things with sights on them. Plan on paying at least $100 for a scope if you actually want it to last, and at that point your going to be spending about $400 and might as well wait, save $50-$100 more, and build an AR-15. The only cheap long guns available now days are .22 rifles that you have to fight hoarders to the death to obtain decent priced ammo for, break action rifles with sights (about $250 new), Hi Point carbines (start at $265 for the 9mm one) but those have some problems (bending/breaking firing pins and the normal Hi Point less than reliable magazines) and are a pain to clean, and bolt(sub $100)/break(~$100)/pump action(sub $200 for low quality new or good quality used) shotguns.

If your local range, VFW, etc isn't on the list, you can join the Garand Collectors Assoc for $25 to fulfil the affiliated club requirement

Even then the Ruger or Savage are gonna have a better trigger, a much easier way to mount a scope and a lighter stock. Once you fix all that on a mosin you'll come out paying a little more due to gunsmithing and S&H for all the accessories. And you're still stuck with the fact that every now and then you'll need a hammer to open the bolt.
