Hey /k/omrades

Lost my battle buddy a few hours ago to a pair of coyotes. Live in a residential area but ready to pop the next one I see and im literally sick to my stomach :( Can we have a hunting/dead coyote pictures thread to cheer me up?

Cheers in advance

I feel ya, my cat was attacked by coyotes earlier this year, fortunately he survived the attack with just a leg injury.

Every coyote I see now gets an 8mm 196 grain fmj, or a 12 gauge 00 magnum buckshot.

My neighbor saw part of the scuffle and said if he was 30 seconds quicker he could have saved him. The fucking coyotes are getting bolder and going further, they got a neighbors dog a few months back. No ones gonna do shit. What the fuck is there to do?

Coyotes gotta coyote man, getting mad at nature is futile. Sorry for your loss tho.

Sorry for your loss OP, I really am.
>>
>>28422845
Hunt for coyotes and intentionally start cutting their numbers near your neighborhood. It'll show them that area isn't safe and it'll reduce their encounters because of the lower population.
>>
>>28422688
My cat got outside for a grand total of an hour and a half, and she was badly mauled it seemed. I am not sure if it was the vultures that tore at her body so much, or whatever it was that killed her. It took everything in me not to shoot every one of those buzzards.

How do you tell if you have coyotes in an area, other than seeing them? I am residential too, but we have had foxes, deer, even eagles (not to mention lots of hawks and owls). Not sure I've seen a coyotes here though.

iktf OP. My last operator cat got mauled by wild dogs.

My current one also got mauled but I this time I was outside. Fucking obliterated the entire pack. Current cat survived with no visible wounds too. Fucking hardcore ass tom.

There are no genocides in nature you fucking moron. A genocide specifically targets a group of people based on who they are. Cats don't give a fuck, they hunt birds naturally. They don't prefer to kill one type of bird over another. It's just food. Stop trying to apply human things to stupid animals.

>Ask why
>"sheeet some old guy came in sayin' he did that to hunt coyotes with"
>300 dollar price tag
>>
>>28422688
I will never, ever in a million years understand why people let their animals be 'outside' animals. Why deal wit the uncertainty and anxiety that they might not be home that night? Why not let them be comfy, well-fed, hydrated, and warm in the comfort of your house all the time?

And who SERIOUSLY lets their animals be unsupervised outdoors in coyote territory?

I'm sorry OP, I feel for your loss (lost my cat a few months ago to cancer), and I really don't mean to even attempt to try and make you feel bad but I just had to get that out of my sytem.

Aaand then the hippies freak out.
>>
>>28423133
In terms of today, yes. But seeing how this was the early 80's, the AR-180 was a somewhat common gun that could be had for $300 in your local shotgun news.

So there's that. I already chewed you out for the fact that there is no fucking genocide in nature, cats killing birds is no issue at all.

>Fucking idiot. Keep your stupid pet indoors where it belongs.

Yeah. No. It's a fucking animal. It's made to live outside. That's what it does. If these stupid fucking birds that you are so very desperate to defend can't defend themselves in nature, they should probably be weeded out through natural selection.

There. Happy? Or are you just going to sit and fume again and say I missed your argument without actually explaining your argument?
>>
>>28423187
You remove hippy, MAYBE manage to remove citizen and then cop removes you.
>>

It sounds a lot like cherrypicking in support of confirmation bias. And, since they're both mentioned in the link, why aren't you getting your knickers in a twist about all of the birds killed by wind turbines and windows?

Could it be that this isn't really about saving birds, but more about controlling what people do?

>>28423075
Anything from .30-30 to .22-250 will work. I'm reluctant to say .22lr because you need to get closer, and coyotes are almost as wary as hogs. That being said, .22 will work, though.

You can call them in with a rabbit squeal, not sure how well baiting works.
>>
>>28423173
build a pen in your basement and keep starving coyotes and make them battle to the death the hippies that you capture.

then rape the winner to death
>>
>>28423120
Because they're animals, anon. They're not people. They're typically pretty good at the "outside" thing naturally. The only cats I've had that died on me were three that had died of old-age during my childhood. The other three I've owned in my lifetime (we adopted a few kittens and my sister took in another cat) are all still alive and outdoors much of the day and all night every night. We also just took in a 10 month old "puppy". He's going to be an outside dog once we've got him trained more and the weather gets warmer.

You're paranoid and bad at animals.

Remember to love and cherish your pets every day /k/omrades, in their many forms.
>>
>read this thread
>most of /k/ finds keeping their cats couped up inside 24/7 as depressing as I do
Good.
If you care so much about birds, just getting them inside at night eliminates peak hunting hours and keeps them safer. Mine live outside all day long without jingle collars or anything and rarely kill any birds.
>>
>>28422970

Yeah, fuck yotes. They do nothing good.

OP, here's how you do it:

> steel leader
> fuckall big fish hooks (think shark and offshore shit)
> all the stuff you need to put the hooks on the leaders securely
> chicken legs

The procedure:

> using t-posts or tree branches, make sure the the SECURELY FASTENED leaders are hung with the the hooks about 4 feet off the ground
> bait the hooks with the chicken legs, ensuring that the hooks go through bone
> leave hooks at dusk, check at dawn, don't get caught

You might catch some dogs, but you will get some coyotes. They'll just hang there until the morning.
>>
>>28423299
What part of "dominion over the beasts of the earth and fishes of the sea" do you not understand? God himself said that we can be picky and choosy about what happens to animals. Do you believe that you yourself are no better than these beasts?
>>
>>28425092

>>
>>28425308
There is nothing wrong with keeping animals like cats inside.

I take him out the back with me sometimes. I make sure he can go outside and smell the fresh air and feel the grass under his paws; as long as I'm there with him.

I don't know if you've ever lost a pet, or had to watch one die but it's one of the worst feelings on earth and it leaves a hole in your heart that you can do nothing but live with for the rest of your life.

I will do whatever it takes to never experience that loss in my life again. I can't do it. I can't imagine my little friend out somewhere, scared, alone and bleeding to death. I just can't do it man.
>>
>>28425333
My elder cat right now is the second best cat I ever had. The best was his friend, who came with him after my aunt died. It was bigger than many of the neighborhood dogs and the nicest cat I've ever met. It died at around 4 years old to an kidney infection, while the other has kept going strong for years despite living most of his life outdoors.
Shit happens. I'm happier knowing my cats will live happy lives no matter how long they go on.
>>
>>28425359

>>
>>28425293
>just don't poison them man. No living creature deserves that.

If they're posing a danger to local domestic animals they pose a danger to you and everyone around you especially children or the weak and elderly.

Of course if you're going to do anything you should make sure you're not going to be caught doing something illegal.

The other three I've lost were all cats. One of them was locked in a room with food and water because she refused to eat. She starved to death and suffered organ failure overnight, and the food and water was completely untouched. Don't tell me it's a different ballgame because I've played both. I know for a fact it is all the same. They suck equally and in the exact same ways.

The only difference is that we needed a digger sort of like pic related to make a hole big enough and deep enough for our dog. We only needed a few shovels for the cats.

It is definitely a personal problem.

Why the fuck did you need a digger? When my German Shepard died I dug that hole with a shovel by my goddamn self and I was glad for the last bit of personal time I could spend with my dog
>rip in pussy spartika
>>
>>28425703
So I guess you live in an apartment? I know if I was as edgy as you are my yard would be an open grave in a week.
>>
>>28425750
We used it to make sure he was deep enough because we didn't want him getting dug up by wild animals, so we put him under a small hill. The digger belonged to my farmer grandfather. It made the job much quicker and easier. We were in shock that our dog had died. The women in my family wouldn't (or couldn't) dig with shovels.
>>
>>28425703
>not wounding them

It punishes the owner with a vet bill to let them know their animal needs to stop fucking up your yard and it makes sure the animal doesn't come around again.

Killing them is a massive fucking overreaction.

Oh, I don't care if they suffer or not. You want to get rid of coyotes? That's a pretty good way to do it. Also good is poison.

I don't care. Do whatever.

cat horder here...

you retards shouldnt let your animals (cat/dog/anything) free range outside. shit like this will happen.

if you dont want to "imprison" your animal in your house then 1. fence train it, and 2. take it for walks. if you have a cat and not a dog, you can buy a cat stroller.

my cats are fence trained (they dont like the stroller, but i know people whose do) they get to romp outside and kill things they find in the yard, but they stay in the fence and come inside when I call them.

0 of them have ever been lost to coyotes. A hawk was taking a close look at my small one once, but between my bigger cats eyeing the hawk and myself fetching a rifle, it buggered off without incident.

Are there 'yotes in your area?

If so, attend to your pets when they're outside, and remove Wile-e whenever possible.

If you insist on making your cats stay indoors their entire lives, at least make it less boring and cooped up. Buy cat towers and other things for your cats to have their space and romp around indoors.

Are there no/few 'yotes in your area?

If so, let your cats and dogs do whatever they damn please, unless they're killing your neighbor's chickens; then you need to leash them.
