What is the best sbr suppressor host for a centerfire cartridge?
current thoughts
gas operated
DI- dirty hot receiver
Piston- hot handguard, extra noise from early venting of gas
Recoil operated
long recoil- sloppier than piston, hot handguard, gases not sealed well
roller lock - ammo sensitive
tilt block-same as roller
blowback
delayed blowback- unsure if it could handle supersonic rounds as well, ammo sensitive, limited bullet weight possible
But specifically which do you think is the best?
boobs
Also long recoil- barrel moves -- booster might be needed
AR-15 with an adjustable gas block

Honestly this.
>>28418253
Specifically get a Noveske barrel with a Switchblock pinned on.
I was hoping for a harder answer
>>28418427
Adjustable works fine
but boo I have one, I'm bored.
>>28418499
switchblock is designed for overgassed stuff not subsonic specific
honestly, anything more obscure
ar's

The bait is too obvious.
>>28418677
Yay! The test where a used M4 with used magazines experienced 500 more mag related stoppages than the new rifle using new-but-otherwise-identical mags and the M4 was the only rifle without vendor representation present!
What a blast from the past!

I haven't had a single malfunction in my AR''''s.
How is the most ubiquitous rifle best suited for suppressor when most don't use them on

>>28419090
So you have no proof for what you claimed?
>>28418937
I misremembered the number of magazine related stoppages, but here:
http://www.armytimes.com/news/2007/12/army_carbine_dusttest_071217/
Relevant to the discussion:
>Out of the 60,000 rounds fired in the tests earlier in the summer, the 10 M4s tested had 307 stoppages, test results show, far fewer than the 882 in the most recent test.
>Colt officials had not seen the test report and would not comment for this story, said James Battaglini, executive vice president for Colt Defense LLC, on Dec. 14.
And
>Army officials are concerned about the gap between the two tests becaus the “test conditions for test two and three were ostensibly the same,” Brown said.
The fix was in.

I'm op not that guy, but I don't think it is accurate.
make sure your ammo is within spec
clean your gun
google that full auto spot in vegas. They know their stuff and running a gun on full auto is going to exasperate any problems. ar's run fine, what makes you think otherwise
>>28419148
I see no proof that the mags used in the M4 were used, and the mags used in other rifles were new.
>>28419201
It was a dust test.
Not a test under perfect range conditions.
>>28419245
>the M4 suffered ... 239 magazine-related stoppages.
>HK 416: 233 stoppages
The 416 and M4 both use the same mags.

I would absolutely love to have a girl like her in the army dressed up in tight uniform being shot through her lovely blonde body while out on patrol, bleeding to death slowly and moaning for her friends, thinking of her family and little brother, thinking about how she joined up to help to protect them, and how she will never see them again. She begins to cough up blood as the enemy approaches, before gasping for a breath she can't catch, and freezing in place, her beautiful eyes open and glassy.
>>28419303
Antman plz.
>>28419298
The 416 could simply be more resilient to magazine failure.
You haven't proved that the mags used for the M4 were used, and the other rifles used new ones.

here's your answer OP, pic related
AAC MPW 9" 300 Blackout upper

you can make an ar that will out perform a fish
get the one you shot the best
reliability isn't going to be anyone's #1 selection.
You want reliability for 60,000 rounds
get a bolt gun
If you want the best possible suppressor host; I'm buying

>The 416 could simply be more resilient to magazine failure.
They are mechanically identical below the bolt carrier. Not happening.

This test took place more than 8 years ago, I'm having trouble finding the article I'm remembering, but the above is an interesting analysis.

surefire mags 60
mirco aimpoint and 5-30X swarovski (for load testing)
shitty one point sling that I really need to replace
sub 6 lb without the 2lb optic
I'm on 300blk and brian enos. I just thought there was more to suppressed that AR's.

Maybe the DI system is causing more dust to get blown into the magazine.
Maybe the HK gives slightly more time for the next round in the magazine to come up to the feed lips.
The point is, you have no proof that the M4 was sabotaged with used magazines.
>>28419624
60000 rounds !
clean your shit
I'd host my SBR in her suppressors if you know what I mean
>>28419720
You're entirely missing the point.
>>28419745
nope
If you think that the way to compare guns is to not clean the mags for 60,000
get a bolt gun or a roll of paper towels and save $2000
/thread
Suppressor host options outside of ar's?
>>28419771
Right, because they used one mag for 60,000 rounds.
Nice one.
>>28419792
clean them regularly you are overgassing the receiver. and making them dirty in process to overcome the dirt of overgassing. chicken and egg
or get an adjustable gas block.
look up at my post on the vegas gun guys
