Inside Delta Force by Eric Haney. He was in the second selection class for Delta. Great look at the selection process and the early days of Delta.

I've read a ton, but instead of listing them all I would recommend:
Visions from a Fox Hole
City of Thieves (awesome novel)
The Liberator
Easy Company Soldier
War of the Rats

I'm reading Life and Fate, which is good so far, and In the First Circle, which is a bit thick for my tastes, but we'll see if it gets better.

I love that documentary on Netflix that features a reenactment of Barthas's experience on the front.

For WW1 I'd recommend The White War, gives a great perspective on the Italians suck at war meme.

Also, for general history, I've been reading Winston Churchill's History of the English Speaking Peoples. Very solid history.

Here's all of the /k/ history books I've read.

Storm of Steel - Ernst Junger

Gonna toss out a 2nd for Command and Control

If you have any interest in nukes it is a great overview of deployment and what kind of logistics are involved. Also some hilariously scary accidents that almost doomed us all.

If you like WWII Navy books.

Story of the actions of the destroyermen of Taffy 3 at the Battle of Samar, where a US task force of 5 escort carriers, three destroyers, and 5 destroyer escorts, turned back a Japanese force of battleships and heavy cruisers, including the Yamato, in pitched battle.

Another great one, from the perspective of the men of the USS Gambier Bay, CVE-73. The only aircraft carrier in history to be lost to surface gunfire in the same Battle of Samar. My grandpa was a 40mm gun commander on it when she went down.

About 2/3 of the way through MiG Pilot: The Final Escape of Lt Belenko

It's the first book I've read in a couple years, so my feel for what's good or shit may be a bit off, but I've enjoyed it so far. Interesting insights into life in the Soviet Union.
