Hey /k/
Getting my first center-fire pistol when I turn 21 in a few months. I've saved up about $1000 over the past year just so I can actually have a decent birthday, cause my family has a habit of being a bunch of fags and getting me really lame stuff. Anyway,
I'm thinking on getting the Glock 19 for concealed carry. All the reviews check out pretty well, and I'll also get a SureFire light attachtment and some Trijicon night sights. BUT
If I didn't go with that option, what would be a better use of $1000 for a concealable pistol in 9mm or larger? BTW this isn't my first experience with a pistol. I've qualed with the M9 and own a Browning Buckmark that I'm a fan of.

Carried one. Get something smaller like a shield.
>>28413514
Just get the 19.
>>28413514
Sig p320 factory night sights you can swap it from sub compact to duty sized and swap from 9mm to 357 Sig or to 40 all on the same gun

Or don't be a faggot and just carry the G19 and don't compromise with single stack shitty capacity. I've carried a G19 every single day for almost 3 years now and have no desire to switch to a smaller, less capable gun.

My man.
No real suggestions on a pistol because I still think glock 19 is one of the best choices for carry even with all of the new offerings as of late.
But in terms of night sights I would go with meprolights. They are cheaper than trijicon HD's but the glowing vials are larger which makes picking up those green orbs at night real easy. I've switched from trijicon to meprolights on 2 of my glocks already. Also I found the trijicon to be really sharp on the rear sights. I kept getting scars and scratches on my arm when the gun was holstered.

Carried a G19 for two years. It's a little big, but if you get a decent holster and are at least 150lbs you can pull it off.
Do not buy one of those shitty blackhawk holsters.
Funny story. I'm also turning 21 in two months. Both my dad and grandpa are vets, but I guess we live in a relatively decent place and they don't carry. I don't even think they own handguns besides my dad's .22lr which I haven't seen taken out of storage in awhile.
It just occurred to me that I'm a "dude with no friends and lives with his parents, who quit his job a year ago (I still have $2k left), borderline shady faggot who now wants to get his hands on a handgun".
I am 5' 5" and 115 lb (32" chest 28" waist). Is the G19 still concealable?

Get a good holster and belt, don't wear tight shirts, don't bend at the waist.
>>28413514
you are going to have a hell of a time trying to CC a gun with a light.

>tfw the best gun is the ugliest gun
>>28415450
good luck finding a holster.

Glock 19 + 2000 rounds
Glock 19 + another gun

Are you trying to imply the glock 19 isn't a nice looking gun?
Now what's fucking ugly is the m&p
>>28415463
Not really, all the big kydex makers already make XC1 compatible holsters. I use a guardian concealment hybrid iwb for my G19 with XC1.

I don't see how people like what it looks like desu. From the trigger to the obvious polymer frame as well as the big blocky slide

that is a pretty cool setup then if you don't mind the extra size.

Get the 19, don't look back. Best aftermarket ever, literally everyone uses it.
G19 + decent sights + Stealthgear IWB + TLR-1 + ammo = the perfect setup for ~$1000
$1000 can get you a used p7!
The Glock 19 is an excellent fun. But it's an excellent $500 gun. If you want it, get it. You will have some cash left over, and still not be disappointed.
>>28413514
Get a M&P shield for cc. You will never regret it.

>good luck finding a holster
>for G19 with a Surefire
On a scale from 0 to potato, how much do you suck at finding holsters?

>concealing a glock 19 with a light
Keep an xbox controller tucked in your waistband for a month and then decide if your thinking is valid.

Do yourself a favor and consider some other guns. I was considering a glock up until I actually handled one; magazine release feels like shit (like pressing down compressed cardboard), the gun fits odd, and just overall didn't feel/look really good.
It's cheap, sure, but if you want to get yourself a good birthday present I'd go with something else.

With the XC1, there is no extra size. That's the point.
