What I really need to know is if it's really an anti-tank rifle or just a .50 calibre. I know with the right load you can attack lighter armoured vehicles with a .50 BMG but it's not really an anti-tank rifle as such.

First, .50 BMG isn't used in anti-tank rifles. Second, anti-tank rifles completely fell out of utility late in WWII because tank designs were maturing. No anti-tank rifle in existence will so much as dent a semi-modern tank.
