They are mostly fine now and give you a good bang for your buck. Back in the day they were often shit, but qc got better.
Just got a wasr 10 2 weeks ago brand new. 600 rounds and zero malfunctions. Used chicom, magpul and Korean 30 round mags with tula ammo. Absolutely flawless

So which is better in new production, WASR 10s or 10/63s? Before I remember hearing WASR 10s had poor quality control and the 10/63 fixed this, but now /k/ seems to claim the opposite.

The original WASR-10, from pre-2007, were very inconsistent in their quality and garnered a very infamous reputation. To combat this, Century took what was to be a 'premium' offering, the 10/63, and largely supplanted the WASR-10 offerings with it. These newer rifles were largely made with surplus components from demilled PM md. 63 AKMs, rather than rejected parts as was commonly seen with the 10s. Recently, the 10/63 was discontinued for the revamped 10, which features new components, hardwood furniture, and QC on par with what the 10/63 had.
I love my 10/63. I've beat the shit out of it

I've got one of the new production WASR-10s and it's been great so far. They are great for the price.

Slr 107 fr worth the money? I finger fucked a couple today at a gun shop, one with the triangle folder and one with the plum poly folder. I've wanted a 7.62 ak with a 74 brake and triangle side folder for mih aesthetics for a while now, but actually having shouldered one today I was less impressed. The poly side folder celt pretty good and they were both light. How does it feel actually shooti g the triangle folder stock?
I also have a hard time dropping over a grand on a Kalashnikov variant. I know times change and so do market values, but fuck me that seems ridiculous

I would also like to say that I recently acquired one of the old-gen WASR's, and apart from it hating Wolf anything, it is a champ and I love it.
People will say "make sure you check the old ones", which out-of-the-box look like this pic of mine.
With what I've learned I will tell you to check ANY AK you're looking at. All of the manufacturers have gotten away with front sight and gas block cant while WASR has taken all the heat for it.

Can't tell you about new production, but the Npap used to be ~$700 at one point. The reason they are so cheap now is because the market was flooding with them, making them almost always available. Atlantic will also do some nice QC inspection for you, and I'm sure when you order it you can put a request in to specifically look at the sights for canting.
