I don't think I would add the extra weight and complexity to reduce already pretty non-existent recoil.
That counter-weight assembly must make the already front heavy AK even more so...thing would be a nightmare to shoot for an extended duration.

Yeah Vickers was in the Unit for a good long while. My understanding is he's been shot on several occasions, has permanent numbness in one of his legs and one of his hands because of it. He's one of the lucky few to operate at that level and get out with his life and psyche intact. Many die, many commit suicide, many are shadows of their former selves.
In my opinion, Vickers has earned his gun more than almost anyone else.
