Not much to say considering they wouldn't see much use even in a Chinese invasion of the jap mainland, since their entire doctrine is literally "hide out in the dense inland forests until the Americans show up to save the day".
>>
>>28399444
Well to be honest, what would the Chinese want with the japs? The only thing they really have is some land.

No resources like oil or metals. Why do you think the japs invaded south Asia during WWII?
>>
The Type-10 has shitty STEEL armour, and the same type of gun and penetrator as everyone else

its light for shitty Japanese terrain though.
it cannot win a fight with a Western tank, and has last generation stabilization

didn't get to see any type 90's or type 10's but the tankers seemed pretty competent, at least compared to other nations I've trained with.

They wear velcro tanker boots. They got really offended when I suggested they didn't know how to tie shoes.

Considering Western tanks can't even cross half the bridges in their country it's not exactly a bad thing I think. It fits their needs like trips up there said.

105mm still can penetrate side armour of every tank. they can ambush attack easily in japans forests and mountains

Oh, I am the guy who posted the video.

This happened to all three tanks they showed at their army presentation. Two different types.

It's not like they were going full speed and being put through stressful terrain either. They were just driving through mud and all three threw their tracks over the course of a few hours.
Losing their tracks is just pathetic, especially on Japanese terrain and soil.

Also, later in the day when a shell was fired shrapnel from it wounded two civilians.

I am?

Japan's navy is the only redeeming thing about Japan's military. But it is severely outnumbered and outgunned by China's.

They have 6 modern destroyers, some modern submarines, 1980's destroyers/frigates/subs, and two LHDs.
That's against 34 Chinese destroyers with 24 built after 2000, 4 LHDs, 70 frigates with 55 from after 2000, an aircraft carrier, and 10 new modern submarines.

This isn't mentioning the air superiority and ballistic missile spam.

Japan would make it a bloody fight, but America is what really keeps them sovereign.

30 Destroyers, including the 4 Helicopter Destroyers
17 Frigates/Corvettes
18 diesel attack Submarines

>That's against 34 Chinese destroyers with 24 built after 2000, 4 LHDs, 70 frigates with 55 from after 2000, an aircraft carrier, and 10 new modern submarines.

1 Carrier
26 Destroyers
66 Frigates/Corvettes
4 Ballistic Missile Submarines
5 nuclear attack Submarines
40 diesel attack Submarines

China would be hard pressed to assert air superiority over the Japanese islands. And this is not accounting for the US 7th fleet.

This is all academic. China has only too late realised their folly of believing doomsday Malthusian predictions and decades of one child policy. They have now a surplus of males which due to being babied, are becoming spaghetty NEETs. In 50 years, their population will contract and age, even faster than it would naturally due to increasing wealth. The economy would not have enough time to automate and get to high tech level due to the gender imbalance. We also know what happens when there are too many males and few females: political instability. China will suffer manpower, economic and civil unrest. They will have no energy to invade other countries.

>30 destroyers
Maybe if you consider 4,000 ton ships with 32 VLS as destroyers. I said 1980's destroyers/frigates/submarines in combination to the modern destroyers

I guess the Akizuki are modern though so they have 10 modern destroyers.

>17 frigate/corvettes
Yeah

>22 destroyers
Wikipedia's active list has 34.

>66
They have 70 according to wiki.

>subs
Accurate

The PLAAF would missile spam the airfields and attack with their bombers, fighters, and navy in a combined operation.
They would be hard pressed but would eventually win even with the 7th fleet.

The J-20, better electronics, and stronger engines would make the war much easier to win.
No wonder the Japanese are building up.
>>
>>28404826
Okay Mr. Genius.

We don't care about 50 years from now.

We care about tomorrow, next year, and next decade.

Also, 50 years ago people were, no kidding, a fifth as productive as they are now. There were practically no computers and a lot of people didn't even have high school education.
In 50 years automation and technology will likely make the necessity for human manual labor a lot less important, look at real wages in America. Stagnant since 1975.

In 20 years China will have exported its labor intensive industries to nations with a lot of cheap labor, while switching to high tech and services.
Just like America did the last 40 years.

Japan has the luxury of a chain of dozens of islands blocking the Chinese in

They can put their abundant truck mounted box anti ship missile launchers on there. Defend them with their ample SHORAD, and a couple of their Patriot clones on the larger islands.

Dig in some of their infantry, MLRS/SPG howitzers to make things difficult for anyone landing on the islands.

Then the Chinese would have to do massive amphibious operations, with cruise missiles popping up everywhere, Eagles and F-2s flying cruise missile strike missions against their landing fleet, diesel electric subs lurking among the islands and the JMSDF surface fleet on the other side of the island chain, coming into range to let off waves missiles. Would be very difficult.

China's ballistic missiles wouldn't do a whole hell of a lot against hidden, propositioned box launchers (many of which are already deployed in the Ryukus). Their best bet is probably to try to take a couple of the islands with fuckhuge paratrooper drops supported by lots of ballistic, cruise missile strikes and huge air raids

I aint an expert tank fag, but the type 10 armor schemes seems lack luster judging from publicly released info.

They are keeping their nanocrystal nippon steel folded over a gorillion times armor a secret. So maybe it isn't so bad.

A2/AD tactics pretty much show up nowhere in Chinese military literature.

The whole concept was created by Navy planners to secure more funding during the War on Terror.

China's navy by necessity has to attempt to cover far more ground than the Japanese, and can expect to be facing everyone from the Vietnamese (who have since acquired superior Russian Kilos) and the Indians (who appear to be ramping up their blue-water capabilities), along with the still-superior US 7th fleet.

China also has very little operational experience, having done pretty much nothing but coastal operations for the last several decades. It has mounted a few successful operations (Aden evacuation etc.) but otherwise they have yet to demonstrate any real know-how. This is in comparison with the Japanese and US navies which have extensive experience in long cruises, joint operations, etc.

Basically the Chinese may have some fancier toys but they clearly don't quite know what to do with them yet. They have vastly inferior logistical capabilities which still damper their blue-water aspirations and they have to maintain sufficient forces to balance the hostile neighbors they have literally everywhere.
>>
>>28412847
>They are keeping their nanocrystal nippon steel folded over a gorillion times armor a secret. So maybe it isn't so bad.
treated steel is still just steel anon. hardness isnt as much of a factor as it was for say, WW2 era armors- today's impactors follow a more hyrdrodynamic model of penetration wherein the length and density of the penetrator take primacy over any other factors like hardness and ductility. Which is not to say they don't affect penetration to an appreciable degree, no its just that the tendency of ever increasing velocity regimes for the latest and greatest rounds of both East and West- with the strict exception of the American A3 round which I think would follow suit anyways.
