I recently moved back to Texas from Seattle actually. It's not as nice as I remember and most of the semi-rural where I grew up has been demolished and paved over, but that might just be because of my rapidly-growing location. East King County and Snohomish are fucking nice though, as is the Peninsula. Trudging through those mountains in the summer I often forgot that I wasn't a kid wandering the piney woods. Seattle is weird, but explore the rest of the state and you'll find it's more familiar you might think.
