Would a former Maginot Line bunker be a good SHTF shelter? Looks pretty solid to me.

Your coffin, m8

The best SHTF shelters are concealed hideouts. Not fortified overt bunkers.

Those Maginot Line bunkers are supposed to be like icebergs. 85%+ underground. If you conceal the above-ground portion, you might have a pretty decent setup. If the below-ground portion has been well maintained over the years.
>>
>>28393450
Pretty sure the Germans aren't going to be attacking in the night.
>>
>>28394234
He is more worried about refugees trying to get in.

>If the below-ground portion has been well maintained over the years.
protip: they aren't

it's funny when autists who buy old silos and bunkers from the government for the low low price of _______ and then come to realize that the reason it sold for land value only is due to the 40 year old underground structures either being full of water with associated water damage or straight up unsafe to go in.

Ok vs conventional threats but shite against nbc

see you at the next government auction m8, I'm sure you're just super smart and the fact that the unzoned and unzoneable land over the silo is going for $500 an acre is a steal, not a red flag.
>gg when you get saddled with the superfund cleanup penalties when someone does a soil toxicity test of your bunkers back40 where grunts burned chemical waste back in the 80's.
>>
>>28394370
eh, just get a poster of Assad and place in on the entrance of the bunker.

It'll work as a scare-refugee
>>
>>28393450
Because they went around it you twit.

not entirely.

Germans broke through a small section of the line while the majority of the offensive went around it

That looks suspiciously like a Russian flag.

I kek'd way too hard.
>>
>>28393423
Not a good idea for a few reasons, from annoyance to deal breaking.

They haven't been maintained for decades.

A lot of the bunkers have tunnels connecting them all.

They're only pointed towards Germany.

And the deal breaker is that the locations of the Maginot Line bunkers are well documented. When SHTF, people will know about it and they'll probably try to get in themselves.
>>
>>28393423
No, bunkers rely on having a friendly army and nation to their back

Earth works are for the best SHTF get a commercial grade dumpster, clean it out, wheel it to where you want it, fill with soil and then be happy you have real cover. Sandbags aren't bad, and rammed earth tires with a proper post are good to. If you are going for broke, get a tire used on a construction vehicle, dig a hole, ram some earth into the tire but leave enough to climb out of the hole+ tire that's over top

OMG SO MUCH THIS

DO NOT BUY CHEAP LAND FROM THE FEDS

DO. NOT.

Serious guys, I work for the feds and I wont even drink tap water on federal sites because the feds exempt themselves from every rule everyone else has to follow.

google Rocky Flats Colorado abd you'll see why you should never trust cheap federal land
>>
>>28394446
>gg when you get saddled with the superfund cleanup penalties

I thought superfund meant the government had a super big fund setup to pay for it?
>>
>>28396968
>buy land from da gubment
>turns out that old military base used to illegally store/burn chemical and medical waste somewhere on the property
>soil will kill you.jpg
>water will kill you.jpg
>best case land useless
>worst case epa fines you for environmental protection act violations, because that land was fine when the last soil test was taken... when they built the military base
>no records of the military doing it ;^)
>owe 100 gorillion dollars in daily compounding fines for noncompliance
>because you own the land
>30 years of calcium and water damage to the concrete collapses the bunker around you
>good thing you were going to kill yourself anyway

You have proofs ? Wow, gullible Westerner actually believes his Jew-media? Where are the proofs? No, thoose are not real proofs, suka.

The way the FBI handled that was so based.

DOE doesn't want DOJ taking a closer look around Rocky Flats? Schedule a fake terrorism threat briefing. Then when the special agents are past the facility's defenses and are face to face with the people running the joint, serve them the warrant and proceed to turn the place upside down. No fucks given.

Even the name was cool. Operation Desert Glow.
