Has /k/ been to any pistol courses they would recommend? I'm considering Tactical Responses' Fighting Pistol course but I'm open to suggestions.

no they don't.
all the way to the right is 9mm hst. top is normal, bottom is 4 layers of denim.
Literally ANY weapons handling courses NOT offered by Tactical Response, Range Time, or Suarez International.
Also anything run/proctered by Sonny Puzikas.
If you avoid those four names you are getting solid, reputable training that's worth every penny.
I took a "Home Defense" class when I started with guns, which teaches you how to move around in your house, things you can do to make your home appear less appealing to outside criminals, how to secure things in the house, and what to do and not do after wasting Jamal
My brother took a "CCW Pistol Fighting" class and he said it was a complete waste of time. It was way too tacticool and you might as well watch James Yeager videos instead of taking that class. That was just for my local range though, I'm sure there are some actually useful ones.

I heard a lot of people like Academis stuff. They have a 3 and 5 day course for pistols IIRC. Though that does mean you have to go to their facility and I believe you need to bring your own weapon and ammo.

Racaza class was awesome. I went from 1.2 seconds from holster to first shot down to .91. It was worth it.

Because all of those classes are taught by known AND documented frauds.
Tactical Response is the single most unsafe and poor "teaching" environment on the planet.
Tactical pieroettes, drop da mag, multiple students NDing into their legs, cameramen downrange, pour 2000 rounds into the berm with no personal instruction and the instruction available comes from Buck Angel with a track record making him unfit to CLEAN your weapon much less to tell you how to shoot it.
Sonny shot another instructor and a student when he wasnt teaching his russian flower death bloom.
Range Time is owned by a KNOWN stolen valorfag who OBVIOUSLY wants to be travis haley.
Suarez claimed disability from the force while he taught coolguy courses and is now a felon.
