I'm getting my CCW permit today, just gotta drive to the sheriff's office. Anyway, I was thinking about getting a little snubby Chiappa Rhino as my EDC. I figure if I'm gonna start carrying, might as well carry a meme gun.
What calibers should I look for that would stop an assailant, but not be too much recoil for decent rate of fire? I'm seeing .40 a lot on Gunbroker, should I try that, or with a different caliber? It also comes in .357 and 9mm. I already have a pistol in .40 so that would be one less ammo type I have to stockpile...
All around, how is the Rhino? I have a meatball, but this is a whole different type of usage in completely different situations. Does it make a good EDC? Any other thoughts?

Don't carry. Even if you're trolling, you shouldn't be allowed to.
I wouldn't conceal carry anything other than 9mm or .380
I also wouldn't carry a revolver. although that one is pretty compact.
The rhino is good, but get the 200D not the DS. the 200D is a superior concealed carry gun (mechanically simpler, more reliable)
Also get it in .357 mag nigga.

I've got a .357 rhino snubbie.
You COULD carry it but I don't mine.
I'd recommend a .357 with .38 +P defense ammo if you did.
Recoil is well managed, and it at least gives the impression of being more reliable than a Unica.

I carry a Colt Lightwieght Officer.
And I wouldn't personally advocate for DAO Rhino.
It's no more complex than most revolvers, and the internal parts are pretty sturdy.
If you're looking for a carry weapon, I'd choose whatever fits your hand that's a 9mm or larger.

Would the absence of an external "hammer" help prevent the DAO from getting caught on clothing on the draw?

I've got a rhino 6" and I'd recommend testing your ammo in it. Make sure it works properly. I've had trouble with some reloads in mine. Most defensive ammo should be good to go.
