I went to Washinton DC with my IRL friends recently and I noticed that most of the security seemed to use revolvers rather than automatics, why is this? Aren't revolvers objectively inferior?

Most security companies only provide their guards with revolvers, some like G4S only allow guards to carry the company issued revolver . Im guessing in DC its too much of a hassle to buy a personal handgun and carry it on duty so theyre stuck with having to carry company weapons.

In my city revolver is an 8 hour class, semiauto is a 16 hour class. It's all about the money. Revolver certification costs companies less because they are considered "safer."
