thinking of getting one in .357 as babby's first revolver
>>28371139
Do it!
>>28371139
I got my dad a good deal on a S&W 686, .357 are great for babby's first revolver.
I got an SP101 3" for my first revolver. It's really nice. Ruger revolvers have a reputation for being tough. Not sure about the LCR, though.
>polymer revolvers
get the x.
>>28371139
I would get it in .38spcl
.357 doesn't do well in a short barrel. It wont burn all the power. you'll get really snappy recoil and only a mariginal velocity increase over .38spcl. You can always shoot .38 in the .357 but the gun will be heavier.

why do have a problem with progress. Perhaps youd rather have a muzzle loader made of cast iron
>>28371139
I have a .38 LCR, it's pretty awesome.

says the guy buying a revolver
>>28371139
If you want to fire .357's I recommend the SP101. Greater weight to reduce recoil.

Im not op
Are you implying that revolvers are outdated?
>>28371139
Was gonna get one to carry on my bike, but got this on sale for almost nothing. Goes bang and serves its purpose
>>28371269
Revolvers are pretty much outdated. The only real upside is being able to shoot magnums without having a gun that's fuck all huge.
This is coming from a guy who loves revolvers.
>>28371269
They're going to sperg about how revolvers are incredibly outdated and if you choose to carry one you should literally die.
I'll admit that a modern semi auto is better for carry but I don't think carrying a revolver is going to cause you a huge disadvantage in a self defense situation.

>progress
pros of polymer:
-lighter
-cheaper
cons of polymer:
-lighter
-less durable
It's more of a lateral move.
>>28371269
are you honestly implying that they aren't? Obviously a gun's a gun and it'll kill a dindu same as any other gun but yes, they are outdated.

pic very related
>>28371139
shot a box through a rental, felt pretty nice, liked the trigger, but not something I'm personally interested in.
>>28371139
.38 or 9mm would be better
>>28371915
I have a 357 that shoots booth those
>>28371915
Who the fuck buys a 9mm revolver?
>>28371939
maybe you'd prefer it chambered for .22 lr? :^)
>>28372041
I'll stick with my 38. But thanks
>>28371939
Someone who already has 9mm pistols and plenty of cheap ammo.
