I am about to buy my first handgun. Pic related, it is my favourite yet, HK 45 .45 cal.

Thoughts? Any other reccomendations?
>>
>>28368225
USP 45 tactical is nice too
>>
Well, if you can afford the ammo I like it.
How much have you shot? You might appreciate 9mm more.
>>
USP compact, glock 19, sig p229 are my recommendations
>>
Glock 19, Sig P320 compact, CZ75, Glock 43
>>
>>28368351
This.
Its been said before, ammo is cheaper, less muzzle flip, effective edc.
>>
>>28368351
I'll third this and say that the P2000 or USP compact both come in 9mm and will be ergonomically the same as the HK45c

Why are you drawn to the HK45?

For a first handgun, >>28368493's recommendations are your best bet.
>>
>>28368225
usp 9 is a nice handgun
I love the ergonomics
>>
I want my first handgun to be the Mk. 23

Because fuck you.

>$100 mags
>$.32 +/round ammo
>no holster options

I like it too but maybe get something that at least pretends to be functional first.

Nice Gun, but remember the H&K's have a special H&K Only rail size, so you have to buy their H&K rail mounted weapon light. 99% of other brands can accept any of the different brands with no problem.
>>
What's the point of an HK45 when USPs in .45 ACP exist and have better standard magazine capacity?

No matter what u buy if it's HK you'll be happy. Everyone wife bitchs about cost I just put on some tunes break&oil the usp down
Then her
>pic unrelated
>>
>>28373081
That's only true with the full size.
The HK45C is basically just a product improved USPC45 in the same way the P2000 is a product improved UPC9.
>>
>>28373081
Better ergos, not xbox huge, and it has a standard picatinny rail instead of the USP's proprietary.

If you want the absolute best .45 (in my opinion) get the FNX 45.

Pretty sure it's doesn't have a 3,000 round b4 first fail rate
>>
>>28368225
I got a canik tp9sa recently as my first handgun and it is awesome! It holds 18 rounds of 9mm and the trigger is not too bad. Not to mention it is sub $400 so you won't regret it.

I also got a glock 43 for my carry pistol and it is really nice as long as you can get over the 6 round mag capacity.
>>
>>28373316
>3,000
Try over 31,000.

If you're stuck on a 45 get a fnx45 tactical. same price, similar bulk, but 15+1 instead.

Pardon my ignorance but what is "squish"?

I'm just joshin', really. The FNX is probably pretty fine and most of their magwells shouldn't be anywhere near that squishy. Most. Probably.

>>28374972
That's crazy, never seen that before.

>tfw Buds Gun Shop literally just sold out of fucking Mark 23s and I was just about to buy one once I got my pay check
Why can't I have nice things /k/?
>>
Already have an FNX. Would I be better off getting an HK45 or USP?
>>
>>28375973
it's up to you. they are more ergonomic and that's why I purchased the one I had at the time. you want 5 more bullets? that might suit your better
>>
>>28375973
9mm is fun target but if its war u want Cleary there is a pistol for it
>>
>>28371673
wilcox made a dedicated holster.

$300 each for the cheaper gen 2 model.
>>
>>28373047
1. You're a moron.
2. The USP and Mk 23 were among the first pistols to have an accessory rail for multiple accessories (that weren't armorer fitted to the gun).
3. Starting with the P2000, they've used standard 1913 rails, which is more than can be said for SIG, Glock, S&W, and others who had ones with weird dimensions.

Solid choice whichever way you go. I carry the USPC45 and love it.
>>
>>28375948
Why cant we have MK 23s in 10mm?
>>
>>28375948
They restock every month or 2. Source: I have Mk 23s and USPs on buds bookmarked
>>
>>28368225
if you can afford to buy that plus ammo and 6 or 7 mags, sure
otherwise I might recommend something in 9mm
>>
>>28377096
you can fairly easily. the US Gov was interested in indefinite .45 +P+ though. the mk 23 can take .45 Super without issue and that's more of a hurt on a gun than 10mm Auto
>>
>>28373316
>muh rounds before failure
Reminder that those tests were done with the mk23, not your USP or 45.
>>
>>28377118
Why wont they make them then?
There are 10mm glocks and its getting more popular all the time
>>
>>28377151
>Why wont they make them then?
no interest. 9mm +P is the current hot thing and the contract with SIG is satisfied already.

the Mk 23 is a niche product and aside from a barrel swap is already ready for 10mm. there's no reason to invest in a new product, especially when other contracts need capital and are more profitable.
>>
>>28377169
Wouldn't it stovepipe? 10mm auto is 2mm longer and has a 2mm shorter case diameter so don't you need a new magazine too? I have no experience with cross-caliber fuckery so I apologize if I'm talking out my ass
>>
>>28373047
Implying nobody makes inexpensive adapters.
>>
>>28373217
Lmao a gin even bigger than the hk, mags with a ridiculous tumor growing on the bottom. Implying hk doesn't have 20rd mags. And their grip feela shitty, little studs like a hard french tickler wtf. They are accurate though.
>>
>>28368225
get a cz faggot
