hey sully got any m1956 kit? what's a fair price if i go hunting locally for the harness and the buttpack?

also might as well post my current gear. shitty phone pic
>>
>>28365593

At first I had the ammo pouches at the front of the rig like the old manuals say, but it seems to make it harder to crouch. Is that normal? are they better off to the sides?

Also how the fuck do you set up the buttpack it has so much extra webbing that sticks out everywhere.

I still need a few pieces of kit to have this loadout complete.

(Not pictured, m12 holster with my Browning Hi-Power)
Currently I want to get

-a 1956 buttpack cause they look cooler
- a 1956 h-harness
-a second canteen cover+canteen
-small or medium alice pack
-ALICE or M1956 IFAK for the chest strap
-some sort of fixed blade for the other chest strap, thinking a smaller ESEE knife would do well

I also would like something that works as a dump pouch, how are the alice saw pouches for that purpose?

What do you guys use for pistol mags? And is it just me or can I only fit 2 pmags in the ammo pouches?

I forgot my pic lol.

I need to get some woodland BDUs and a boonie to go with this shit. After that I'm gonna look into some more camo that would work better in my area.

Thinking Atacs AU would have good performance in Eastern Oklahoma where it switches from prairie grass to woods. I'd like to get some MARPAT but I don't like wearing current issue US patterns for some reason.

OH! I need some fuckin tigerstripe to go with the nam kit

Also my other piece of gear, this 1st gen LBV, anyone got some protips on attatching this to the belt or am I overthinking it.

It's close to the Venom Snake vest, but not close enough.

the only other loadouts I want is a Venom Snake kit setup, and then some modern MOLLE shit. Learning milsurp/gearqueer stuff is complicated.

Who makes good repro tigerstripe and woodland? I'd rather not have to remove some dudes name from a shirt.

Ammo always goes to the front. If it is in the way, you are wearing the belt to low.

The butt pack has rings on it where you attach your suspenders to and the other straps pull tight and will not be in the way when you have it loaded.

I have nearly everything you are looking for in the M56. As for pistol mag pouches there is an M56 double mag pouch.

>>28365650
Tiger stripe was used by SF and POGs. I'd go with just OD green.

There is literally no purpose for this and it wastes space on the board that could be used for more productive posts instead of this fagbook/leddit tier shit.

We ask about auctions and if they're complete because we don't want to fuck over each other by bringing light to an auction that could be an easy buy. If you they post what it is, everybody and their uncle are going to check it out, and that leads to more competition for bidding.

>run by an anti-gun company
While this may or may not be true, (I don't personally know if it is, but I'm not claiming it's either) that's not particularly relative to this thread, we care about milsurp and camo, and while someone might occasionally post some recent gun acquisition (usually surplus), 99% of posts are about other militaria, with helmets, clothing, webbing, patches, and what ever else you can think of.

>more productive posts
Lol, you're on /k/, friend, we aren't "productive." If a string of five posts about buying milsurp on a thread about milsurp bothers you, you should go to another thread. And if talk about buying thing bothers you, justify any recent acquisitions thread. How is that productive?

I've done it before with some Danish pants marked as Swiss purely because I was annoyed with it being in the emails eBay sends me. It can have mixed results, I've had some people thank me and immediately change the error, some do nothing.

>>
>>28377907
Do you have the helmet in your possession? The liner does look like it could be a WW2 low pressure liner.

The shell is a rear seam which if it is a US shell would mean late WW2 or post war. I don't like the look of the chinstraps. That type of weave in the canvas looks like a European copy. Either Dutch or Belgian.

I need better photos of the liner and a shot of the inside of the shell to be sure.

The US used nylon chinstraps but much later than WW2. More into the 70's and 80's.

Definitely not a 1st pattern St Claire liner. It looks like a Dutch or Belgian liner, which is nearly worthless.

Most of the time, a plastic liner like that is worthless.

I did recently get this helmet, which was manufatured in Hong Kong and used by the Iraqi Army in the Gulf war

Other times, if you win the helmet lottery, you will find a TS-3 liner. The TS-3 was the experimental precursor to the M1, and the liner was made of plastic.

After looking at it again and in my further posts I clarified that I was thinking it was a Euro copy.

Who was it looking for child soldier uniforms?
Toddler size.

Anything non Rothco for tiger stripe is expensive. Even the Tiger Stripe Products/Tru Spec variety that used to be cheap has gotten more expensive.

Pic related the shitty Rothco pattern.

Traded one of my ACU's for this one.

Here we are, an almost pristine Belgian para smock! It even still has the paint on the snaps.

Dated 1973, made by Seyntex, a 2nd pattern half-zip denim one. Not as valuable as the 50s/60s ones but a nice sight from the M90s floating around everywhere.

Nice! Not familiar with French insignia, what's the rank and badge? I see an anchor on it, I'd hazard a guess at Marina?
