Nope check it, NI is one of the few parts of the UK that are allowed to have handguns as part of the agreement with the English proper. Its actually one of the few areas period that even have CCW as an option.

In general, the Filipinos I've met that came to the US have been cautious about guns, but ultimately enthusiastic about owning them for self defense. I assume this is because in the Philippines civilians cannot own guns (?), however there is heavy corruption and organized crime within the entities that can. (politicians, govt officials, law enforcement)
There might be a similar story for other south east asian ethnicities, however I don't think that reasoning would extend to Japan and SoKorea which are relatively safe (?) from those dangers.
