So I been carrying a knife for a while now and come to decided that it's time to start carrying a gun now.

I'm not going to disclose state or location I am at but I do request some help on this.

I want to know what handgun will be best to conceal carry and please include the caliber and the brand of the particular ammo that is best suited for model of the handgun that be best for conceal carry.

Thank you.

This is sketchy as fuck

The best posts start with "So I been carrying a knife" you sketchy fuck
>>
>I've been carrying a knife
Bruh a knife is an essential tool. Saying it like this makes it seem like you've been doing something more than just having a folder in your pocket. Your either too young, sketch as fuck, or a combo of both.

There is nothing sketchy or wrong with what I just said and the reason I carried a knife is because I use it as a tool and if ever the case as a defense tool but I don't wish to use the knife that way and would just prefer to conceal carry a handgun for self defense instead of using the knife for that matter.

>>28348892
Yeah but I prefer here because alot of you conceal carry abd I prefer to get the most absolute down to the source on what's best to get and what caliber and brand to use.

>>
>>28349494
I wouldn't know why you would assume that but let me be clear on this.

I carry a knife but I now wish to carry a gun for the sole purpose of self defense and I come here to acquire straight forward answers.

No need to go into more detail than that.

>>28349556
Well as a matter of fact I do make my statement as straight to the point and I do not like to beat around the bushes or make little quirky little hints to get my point across to the other person.

When I need to day something or ask something I will ask or say for the matter of whatever topic it may be and so in short to your question, yes I am this formal to alot of people and no that is not to be afraid about.

>>28349583
I heard some mixed reviews about the Taurus firearms and I am not the one to risk myself to use their products unless it has been actually proof tested and known not to go faulty upon multiple use.

Please point me to a different handgun now.
>>
>>28349793
Get a Ruger SR45 or SR9 if concealed carrying

Get a 1911 (Ruger, Para make good ones) if open carrying, they're a lot of fun to shoot as well

Whatever you get, budget for at least 1000 rounds of cheapish plinking ammo to get basic skills down, as well as maybe 100 rounds of quality self defense ammo.

Also, learn how to break up your statements into sentences, or at least put in some commas
>>
>>28349865
Thank you for giving me your honest answer.

Now what specific brand of ammo would it be best for self defense if ever the need rises?
>>
>>28349929
Winchester brand ammo you fucking creepy fuck

Bro, depends on why you're carrying.

If you want to stop a bear or cracked out NFL linebacker on the back bowls of Vail, you'll CC a .44 magnum or something, if you want to defend against deranged mass shooters, you might go with what these other posters suggested.

If you want to protect yourself a step up from a knife, carry a .22lr/ .32acp/ .380/ .38special pocketgun in a waist holster.

I carry a G26 with a IWB holster. Other side has an ID and carry permit holder (like pic), cell phone holster, and pouch for flex cuffs

>I'm not going to disclose state or location I am at but I do request some help on this.
This is important information.

>I want to know what handgun will be best to conceal carry
For an absolute beginner I would recommend a single stack double action. Barrel length 4-5 inches. Go to the store and find one that fits your hand well, the staff should be able to help you out. They probably also have information on classes which you should take.

>please include the caliber
9mm, .40 S&W, or .45 Auto. If you decide on carrying a revolver, shoot .38 Special out of a gun chambered for .38/.357.

>and the brand of the particular ammo
I use Winchester PDX-1. Hornady Critical Defense, Federal HST, Speer Gold Dot, and Remington Golden Saber are equivalents. If you live in Jersey you'll want Federal Guard Dog.

>>28350199
So what about gold dot that makes it unique?

Is it the way the bullet is shaped and the powder that is used within?

Not saying that your suggestion is bad but I just like to know more detail about it?

>>28350246
Well I will be carrying it for protection from anyone that tries to hurt me or something worse to me but if I where to go out in the woods I would be asking for something else besides conceal carrying.

But I can see why you say that though.

>>28350270
That is a nice set you have there now how much did all of that cost you?

>>28350437
The location of my place is not the case in this topic and I would prefer we keep that part mute please.

Also I will take your note on the ammo brand suggestion.

It's both the shape, composition, and construction of the bullet and the powder used. Also important are that the primers are sealed against corrosion and nickel plated cases to, again, avoid corrosion.

>The location of my place is not the case in this topic
But it is pertinent due to differences in laws between the states. In Jersey you can't carry hollowpoints, in New York you can't have a magazine larger than 10 rounds, in CA you have a whole clusterfuck to deal with, etc.

for fucks sake, I cant get a glock 36 in my state, but if I don't let everyone know then their time is wasted by telling me to get one if they post that.

this is now a monster girls thread

Okay thanks for explaining that to me the gold dots sounds like a very nice deal on the brand.

Also about the location I wish not to disclose my location at all whatsoever but I will state out that I am not in New York nor in California that is all I will say.

Even after dremeling off the finger grooves and stippling the area I still found my self having to readjust after a couple shots with Underwood 180/165gr 10mm. Adding a #20 guide rod spring did nothing but make it a bitch to drop the slide using the slide release lever.
