I feel like I can never get a straight answer from anywhere I read without some huge personal bias, noguns opinions, and/or shilling clouding everything. What happened, /k/? Was it just politics, or was there really something wrong with the gun beyond the shitty integrated optics?
>>28346644
It melts.
>>28346644
It's made by no gun countries. What do you honestly expect? Just like the famas.
>rifle is created to meet satisfy set of design criteria
>in service use rifle is pushed beyond limits of design criteria
>rifle fails
>this is rifle's fault
Mostly political BS. Tests were unrealistic and basically involved dumping more mags in full auto than a soldier would carry. Rifle has been in service for decades with multiple armies and non of them had any complaints about accuracy or reliability in actual combat situations. The optics are still pretty shitty for today's standards and should probably be replaced with the G36C rail with the new Zeiss 4x sight
>>28346678
The Famas was exceptionally functional in that it had surrender sticks, though
>>28346644
>>28346703
More like
>hello sir here is a prototype of the rifle you ordered.
>axh mein gott! Zis is too expenzfive! Just make ze barrel out of the ashes of the Jews or zamting
>bbb-ut sir, then the rifle wouldn't be saf-
>QUIET JUDEN! YOO VILL MAKE ZIS RIFLE OUT OF SPIT AND BRATWURST OR WE VIL SEND YOU TO ZEE CAMPS!
>>28346644
It was political bullshit, the only thing shit about the G36 was the carrying handle optic.
>>28346661
The special forces never seemed to have a problem with them from what I understand. Considering the main complaint was about not being able to hold a zero, I'd imagine it's more to do with the crappy integrated optics than the gun being polymer.
>>28346678
So I guess everything H&K makes is bad now, right? Let's throw out FNH, too. Can't trust anyone that isn't hasguns America to engineer a good rifle.

>>28346706
Thanks for the honest info! It really did seem odd to me considering the KSK still uses the G36K religiously, and nobody actually said anything about the rifle itself being bad.
>>28346795
Funny how often it is the liberal media tries to help and just fucks things up
>>28346678
> no gun countries
> France
Pick one
>>28346795
Did this whole thing start because the G36 was supplied to the kurds?
>>28346847
>honest info
>no one in the thread backing up their sources
>all anecdote and hearsay
>honest info
>>28346678
Tell that to the US DoD, everything they buy is either HK or FNH.
>shilling
Are you fucking stupid or something, kid?
The charging handle is floppy pos that will break if you even try to remove a jammed case
the polymer melts and warps if you run a few maga throufh it, no not 5+ mags in cull auto, but 3 mags in semi at a steady pace will iT and make it lose zero
Look at the tfbtv fruitcake do A test with it in full auto and watch az he rushes to do anorher froup before the heats transfers to the polymer and use that definitive proof that his overpriced rifle is fine
Also fuck this tiny keyvoard o. This fuckin phone
>>28346741
Got that reference
>>28347284
Why are aimpoint magnifiers nine hundred dollars? Seriously, what the fuck, people complain about the G33 but the Aimpoint is way more expensive and has a shitty twist mount
>>28347444
Are you having a stroke
>>28347444
Yeaaaaa that is absolute bullshit. Used the rifle during several tours in Astan as a grunt and never had a problem with the ruifle. I don't know a single person that complains about the rifle except for the shitty sights but those have been fixed with the new G36 IdZ or whatever the fuck it's called.
>I can't get a straight answer
>so I'll ask an anonymous image board filled with nogunz, shills, and disinfo agents
Great thread retard
Nothing happened, literally. German military seems to be running around with the original "cut corners" G36. You know how fucking old this shit is? No one else complained as far as I know. KSK seems to like the G36K and Spain never said anything either, unless I missed something.
>>28347472
Because the government and secret operators buy and use them. People who can afford to gucci their guns are going to buy these.
>>28347444
>most retarded post ever
>>28346644
Used and abused it (G36K). Great rifle, integrated optics usually fog up so i ditched it for irons. Accurate with sustained fire up to 500metes with elcan. Its light and ergonomic, great for field and for CQ. Only con is retarded fat mags with those stupid retainers that hook on everything. If you got any questions just ask
>>28349070
I gotta ask, but have you clipped all your mags together just because you can?
The integrated optics ain't bad either.
Source: Qualified on the G36 once.
>>28349070
I've never seen that kind of carry handle/rail before, but it looks like sex. What country do you serve?
>>28346644
Germoney gib to Greece plz.
>>28346644
>>28349070
The guns problem (only with the original, not with the k or c variants) was that, when firing for extended periods the barrel would heat so that the gun would become inaccurate.
The real problem was that the inaccuracy caused by the heat would manifest in as little as 30celsius
>>28349344
I want to say that's bullshit but I don't know enough to dispute it.

Rifle is fine. Whole thing was their shrieking harpy of a defense minister trying to nuke H&K
