easier said than done. At least on a M92
>>
>>28344068
riveting really isnt that hard maybe if you are doing one of those in trunion button folders but still not ridiculously complicated
>>
>>28344090
Not hard, but time consuming. Assuming you want a proper stock on the thing -
>The original rivets have to be ground off.
>Those holes have to be filled with weld.
>Those welds need dressed.
>The trunnion doesn't line up flush with the rear of the receiver if you want the dust cover to close.
>The length between the hinge latch is different.
>New holes need drilled for a proper rear trunnion.
>New trunnion needs riveted.
>Fuck! The entire front of the stock needs resculpted to eliminate the gap between the receiver and the wood so it doesn't look like shit
>Have you ever seen exactly how many different surfaces there are on the "tang" of a wood AK stock.
>Several hours later.
>Now the whole thing needs refinished from the welding and grinding.
>Reassemble
>Let's shoot it!
>Jam
>Jam
>That length I was complaining about earlier? >The difference between the new stock trunnion and the original block off plate thing?
>It got longer
>Recoil spring has less preload
>Like maybe .040" less, but enough.
>Machine an aluminum spacer
>Install
>No malfunctions since.

Not hard, but it's not something your average jer/k/off is going to do without goofing it. It takes a bit of patience and the proper tools.

Can I put surplus hand guards on a Draco? Or would I have to cut them down?

They would fit.

You sure? What kind of hand guards and other shit should I get?
>>
>>28344861
the hand guards are standard size the tube is a little shorter than a standard ak tube though but just reuse it
>>
gonna hijack the thread a little here. but it's relevant to any who might be building an AK pistol.

I'm starting my first AK-74 build soon.

bulgarian parts kit, going to have to remove fsb, gas block, etc from barrel remnants

got my nodak spud receiver, rivets, tapco g2, barrel.

receiver is pre drilled for rivets to reduce possible fuckups on my part.

any advice? I have all of the tools, but I'll need to make my own riveting jigs. I got the GO / NO GO headspacers. I plan on doing this VERY slowly and carefully so that it'll turn out nice, I even got crayons to mark things out so everything lines up perfectly.

got any tips for first time build?
>>
What is the process for attaching a stock to a draco, like yours? >>28343744

I know some of the older dracos came with an underfolder trunion.
>>
What's the point behind the design of such a short AK-styled rifle? Wouldn't the massive decreased barrel lead to way further spread, recoil management and harder aim?

They look rad as hell though, being so compact, but I can't help but wonder if the drawbacks are worth it.
>>
>>28345955
depending if you want a button on folder or a button in trunion folder ones easier than the other just google draco side folding stock install

the easier one is knocking out 2 rivets and re riveting them other some dremeling and fitting
>>
>>28346003
>Wouldn't the massive decreased barrel lead to way further spread, recoil management and harder aim?
no no and no
the only thing affected is muzzle velocity
perceived recoil might increase but it's the same, there's just less mass
>>
>>28346102
this. 7.62x39 is pretty nice out of a short barrel. shorter sight radius might make it tougher to shoot accurately, but it shouldn't be too bad
>>
>>28343744
how is this thing for you? Ive read spotty reviews on them and I just went to my LGS today and saw one and almost bought it but bought a PAP online instead
>>
>>28346140
not like AKs had a long sight radius to begin with...
>>
>>28346223
if you measure, it's about the same as on an AR. it's just that everything is moved forward several inches
>>
>>28346073
Thanks, I'll poke around. We can register SBRs now in IL so I'm considering going that route. Might go all out and get one of the new krinks from Arsenal.
>>
>>28346254
I want to get an SBR and I live in IL too, is the only requirement a C&R license?

You faggots can fucking kill yourselves with your shit ass pussy bitch faggot "AYYY KAYYY FOWRTEEE SEHBUNNZ!!11!1" .300 black out is clearly the superior round for SBR's, especially when it's launched from a superior system. Pic related
>>
>>28346308
AFAIK the C&R license is the only real hurdle, other than the usual stuff.

Is that a fake colt scope? Doesn't look like mine, I don't see a BDC or anything.
>>
>>28343720
Is the purpose of these "pistols" to show that an assault rifle ban can be subverted?
>>
>>28347715
Lel, an assault rifle ban? That's cool I don't own any full autos anyways...
>>
What's better out of a pistol, 5.45 or 7.62?
And what's some good 7.62 ammo? FMJ's terminal ballistics are trash.
>>
>>28347789
"Assault Rifle" in the Liberal definition.

>>28347715
Partially, but in reality it just sort of "happened" because the ATF is borderline retarded. They didn't know how to label them and received consistent pressure.

They're a ton of fun, and worth it just for shits and giggles. I love mine, I just wish I could get actual magazines for the thing. Thank you commiefornia.
>>
>>28347946
An assault rife is a select fire, intermediate caliber rifle.

"Assault Weapon" is the made up term that has no exact definition other than whatever they deem scary.

Assault rifle ≠ Assault weapon
>>
>>28347715
Well, for some of us, we have outright bans on certain firearms(any style AK47 pattern rifles) making pistols and SBR registration the only way to have one.

> Striped leggings

Are you grill?

But yeah, you're right about that nasty blonde wood; that refinish looks much better.
>>
>>28346190
i fired about 3 mags completely stock no problems, cleaned all the factory grease out, did my 'upgrades', oiled her up with motor oil, and fired two more mags no problems.

i prefer the full draco because i like the sight block and being able to use regular ak furniture
>>

Ah yes, I remember the first time /k/ made me question my sexuality. The best advice I can give you is to embrace it, don't fight it.

Just saw the leggings, so I figured.

Man or woman, if you're this knowledgeable >>28344177
about AKs (or gunsmithing in general), you have my respect.
