How are the c308 if anyone had any experience with it? It almost seems too good of a deal for just 600USD.
Should I go for it or just save up a little more for a ptr?

I never said it was shit, I merely said it wasn't a great rifle.
There is literally no reason why someone shouldn't spend a fraction more on a PTR which will be a better rifle in every single little regard. If you're too poor to afford a PTR then you're too poor to be able to afford to shoot .308. so you shouldn't even be buying a C308 in the first place.

Just got my PTR not too long ago. Pretty damn good for $800 bucks. Buy whatever you want man. Your money and all that. Just be aware that PTRs do come with a 3 year warranty and a lifetime warranty on internal parts.
Feel like I'm the only guy here that owns a c308 and doesn't think it's dogshit. I like it, bought mine used for 450 and haven't had problems except one time a brass case broke in half in the chamber and I had to take the gun apart to get it out. Not a big fucking deal at all. the gun is more accurate than me and eats everything I feed it. Also way more fun than an AR imho. You get what you pay for; it ain't pretty but it's a simple design that goes bang. If you find one for under 500 like I did go for it, no ragrets

You can find PTR's on sale for $700, and when not on sale only $800-850.
Get the PTR.
You MAY get a CAI that is ok, and pretty reliable but thats a gamble and the PTR absolutely will have better build quality.
