All movie plot stuff aside.
Marky Mark says in the movie that he lost his first aid kit, (obvious after jumping off a cliff) before plugging them with dirt. Im pretty sure the other members of the teams had IFAKs, but they were wounded/overwhelmed too fast for that to do any good?

>using your IFAK on yourself, by yourself
>packing wounds with mud
It was fake operator movie drama from beginning to end.
Still haven't seen this movie, but apparently they had professional gear queers doing the costumes, to include their weapons and rigs and shit. Really fascinating. None of this old MLCS stuff is hard to find, but they put a lot of work into it to make everything look aged.

It's called 'product placement'.

At least they had the Raid Mod BDUs/DCUs. I thought it was pretty cool they put the effort into modding their uniforms.

Lutrell was the medic of that 4 man team. Everyone has IFAK's on them, but giving 'movie forgiveness' they may have been referring to the aid bag, not their IFAK's.
A medic has an IFAK on his rig but he also carries a medbag with everything needed for lifesaving and any field surgery (such as a crich). It's usually seperate and attached or inserted into the ruck or pack on their pack. And in that scenario would be easy to lose falling down a cliff.
The movie went full retard in its exaggeration. And packing dirt is fucking hilariously stupid.

Packing the wound with dirt is actually legit. If he lost his med kit, he is gonna have to pack that wound shut. In the end it is better to take a chance of infection from that, than bleeding out. Working in the ER for the last six yrs, we had a patient who was /out/, who impaled himself partially on a branch, only thing that saved his life was that technique. So don't Doss it until you get proper knowledge, fag.

Details on dirt packer from /out/ please.
