I found this gun in my grandma's house, and if you could give me some info about it, it'll be great. Ther isn't any incriptions on it exepted "Fabrication Française" on the right side and "franco" on the top.
i beleive it was a pistol that the US made for cheap to drop over france in ww2 for ressistance fighters
>>28325445
Holy fuck that's a Liberty pistol. Manufactured to help the French resistance in world War two, single shot .45. Doesn't look to be in worse condition than a few I've seen in museums either.
>>28325467
Apologies, Liberator not Liberty.
>>28325445
HOLY SHIT OP HOLY SHIT OP
ITS A FUCKING LIBERATOR
>>28325474
>Liberator
should be worth a good amount. I would start by derusting it tho.

>>28325474
>>28325481
I googled it, and it's not exactly the same.
I've got some other pictures
It's got a magazine, you monkeys. It's not a liberator.

or black plastic grips, or that shape of grip at all

What in fucks name are any of you smoking?
That is not a liberator by any stretch of the imagination. It's not even a .45 for that matter.
OP, it looks like it might be one of a myriad of cheap pocket autos out of Europe from any time after WW1 up to WW2. Made in France, by some company I'm not able to google-fu.
Use some 0000 steel wool and gently brush off the rust, you might be able to find additional information.
It's a Le Francais pocket pistol.
Maybe a resistance gun, the free French turned out lots.
Also could just be a cheap post-war pocket pistol.
>>28325528
Winner Winner chicken dinner. Probably a .25 auto. Little oil and TLC could make it work again.

>Probably a .25 auto.
Most likely. They also made them in .22, so it could be that as well.
>>28325513
looks like a French version of a Beretta 21a With that barrel assembly and all. Maybe Radom pocket pistol? FOUND IT just google "french pocket pistols mf"
That's what the bullets look like
>>28325545
I'd sooner say .25, I've not heard of many pocket autos in .22 coming from Europe at the time. The most common calibers are .25 and .32, and every now and then a .380 crops up.
>>28325522
>gun
>steel wool
how about no
use copper or brass wool. wont fuck up the finish.
>>28325559
It's a .25
>>28325564
I would be inclined to agree, but I'm literally looking at the manufacturing info right now. That said, they also came in .32
>>28325559
Yep, .25ACP. You can find them at more established gun stores, but you might not find them at something like a Walmart.
>>28325565
>0000
Will work just fine.
>>28325508
Beretta Minx I want to say but I'm unsure
>>28325573
nope, you're wrong, bud. even 0000 will still scratch the finish up.
>>28325573
>>28325522
why use steel wool to remove rust. Is this how you people were raised without fathers to teach you better?? lurk more and stay in school
>>28326772
Because It's the easiest and cheapest way to clean up light surface rust? You gonna use a wire wheel and tear the shit out of the bluing/metal?
Why are you fucking people always stealing guns from your grandparents?
Damn you assholes piss me off.
>>28325559
OP, don't be retarded and take the finish off. Scrub it with a shop towel first, and DO NOT use steel wool or a wire brush.
>>28327028
0000 steel wool will not take the finish off no matter how hard you try.

>>28327207
It's Christmas break.
>>28327069
DO NOT USE STEEL WOOL.
You need to get a bronze brush apply a solvent and then use that. That is the safest way to remove surface rust on a firearm.
>>28327312
Oh, there is a step 2 as well. After you have done that get a motor oil or another oil that you can soak the firearm in. Remove any plastic or wood components and immerse the gun and magazine in oil. Let it sit for some time (8 hours to 2 days) and then pull it out and clean off the excess. Then wrap it in a dry cloth and let the excess oil seep off into cloth. After you have done that and you can run a cloth off of it dry then you can use a gun lubricant to make sure the firearm functions properly.
>>28327312
I have cleaned quite a few rusty messes of firearms with 0000 steel wool and CLP, literally will not harm a firearm/finish.

>>28325445
"Fabrication Francaise" translates roughly as "made in France"
