Both muggings and terrorist attacks can happen to anybody, but I don't think we should live in constant fear.
Carry a gun, train with it, use common sense and situational awareness. Our lives and freesoms shouldn't be crippled by hypothetical situations. What happened in San Bernardino was tragic and abhorrent, but it happened to one of the most defenseless states in the country. The same, or an even greater effect could've been pulled off with proper explosives.
