Long time no see.
I have $2000 to spend on a rifle. Leaning strongly towards a Steyr Aug for around ~$1700.
Currently own a CZ75b and an M1A and the 308 is a bit expensive to shoot.
What would you fuckers do with $2000?
where do you live?
is the budget just for the rifle or is it for the rifle ammo and acesories?

Get the AUG. Maybe hold out until we know whether or not the MDR is actually going to be released.
Personally I already have an AUG and I want an SLR-104.

I reload but I'm trying to get a promotion so it's OT every week and I'm exhausted. Also just moved so the table's not set up. I do have around 1000 168 gr bullets and half my weight in powder though.

Looking for something more practical. Think, shoot paper at 200 yards, defend my house, hunt (not that I do), etc.
Also I like noise and recoil. Pistol caliber is boring.

the only bullpup worth a shit is a tavor so if thats what youre after thats what id go with.
other than that, an RD AK or a BCM or DD AR. If youre already stocked up on a shitload of .30 cal buets itd look into the DD ISR .300 blackout rifle. would be the shit. otherwise, a 7.62x39 or a 5.56x45 rifle make the most sense. if you like noise an recoil get a bigass muzzlebrake and some decent earpro

Right now, if I had $2000 in disposable income I'd get either an L1A1 build and NHM 91 or two Saigas in 7.62 and 5.45 for eventual conversion.
Others on my list around that price would be a Galil AR, Beretta AR70, Valmet M76, and a Yugo m76
The Aug is a good choice though. I'd also like to pic up one of the A1/2 variants eventually

Where can you find a Galil for $2K?
Galil and Valmet are my dream guns. I just don't have the money for them, they're usually 3.5-7K, when I've looked.
Also trying to avoid anything that isn't pre-ban or fully built. None of that Galani shit, none of that parts kit with an American barrel shit.

Was looking at DD. Seems a bit plain. How do they stand up in terms of quality and customer service?
I know BCM does a lot of parts kits. Would I be well off building form a parts kit? i don't really have time to dick around with anything but a barreled upper and complete lower, and I kind of like the idea of having a warranty.... I'm a bit prone to fucking things up

My job generally involves me sitting on my ass all day so I just browse gun boards and jew broker all day. There was one on gun broker that ended up selling for 1900 just a week ago. It's not really practical, but it does pay to wait.
