Can i use regular old rust remover to remove rust from a barrel, or is there another way?

Rust remover will strip bluing off to clean bright metal. So basically if you "de rust " the barrel your process should go....
1 after disassembly de grease the barrel so the remover will contact actual metal. Use brake cleaner or acetone and wipe it with a white shirt until its clean.
2 Dry and immerse and soak in de ruster.
3. Take out and wash with warm water and dishsoap
4. IMMEDIATELY DRY with a heat gun or oven.
5. Seal inside plastic bag with dessicant. Until you can refinish. Do not touch with ungloved hands
or oil the shit out of your bare metal gun barrel and reassemble. Also keep oily forever

Ive been looking but haven't found one. There's a guy on YouTube that did a 1911 or hipower I forget. In a shower for the steam/rust portion and a garage for the chemical parts. It turned out nice. Super black. Its easy to find. Don't do cold blue its completely different. You want rust bluing
I wonder if White Vinegar will harm blue and parkering.
