I recently came into possession of a used IOC AK. Never heard of this company anyone have any experience with them? How nice of a rifle is it relative to the price ($600)?

It's a hit or miss. I'd put it at or under WASR quality.
IO Inc. is considered one of the best AK manufacturers. It's on par with Valmet, Sako and Izhmash.

They have a rep for producing absolute ass AKs. I've had one of their older ones from NC for a few years without issues, and those are supposed to be far worse than the newer FL ones. Just keep an eye on it so you don't get fucked up. Keep checkin them rivets, and the rear trun. Inspect bolt from time to time.
They're the worst of the worst. The only thing I can think that would be worse is a Khyber Pass AK or INSAS.
At least Waffen Werks didn't fuck up their riveting.

Considering you first posted that looking for people to tell you that you did good, you have no idea what quality means. You bought one of the worst AKs to ever exist. IO is worse than Century and Taurus on a bad day combined.

Mine was a sorry pos that did this about every three rounds and the mag catch pin walked out the first time I used it.... It took 9 months for them to send me a new one that "worked" but was so out of spec that the recoil buffer they give you had to be in or the bolt carrier would ride off the track while firing. long story short I sold it at a loss and informed the buyer of the problem. Pic related my former IO AK and the issue i had about every three rounds
