I was out shooting my CZ P-09 today and threw it down in the snow before firing as a test. I picked it up and tried to pull the trigger but snow had gotten behind the trigger and prevented it from being pulled. I cleared that and pulled the trigger and it failed to fire on the first shot due to snow getting stuck in the firing pin/hammer area, but a second pull cleared fired the round I had in the chamber. Just wanted to share this so you guys know to give your gun a few good smacks before trying to fire if it falls in the snow for whatever reason, especially people who use hammer fired guns.

This is a common problem. Happens with dirt and mud, too.
Some guns are more prone to it than others. Some rifles, too. For example the AR-15 trigger mechanism gets stuck pretty fast once frost and ice builds up in it.
I live beyond the artic cirle myself so these are things I have to consider, but as said, it happens with mud and crud too.
