There's no point to a 9mm submachine gun that's semi automatic. Considering it as automatic though, assault rifles give better range and accuracy, pistols give better close quarters maneuvering at the same damage, and even if it had some shred of advantage and full auto it still doesn't do anything other submachine guns have been doing the same for years. Czechoslovakia basically built the thing because they wanted their own mp5 without EU bitching about stealing designs, then they marketed it a bit more to the civilian market by placing common additions that aren't special at all on it, making it look futuristic.

Personally I can't find a reason to buy something like that though, a submachine gun without full auto or burst fire defeats the very purpose of one, and thusly is pointless.

Nvm, just saw on MACs video that the MPX requires an adapter also, thought I saw otherwise. Also the 922r kit comes with what's in OPs pic, I like the grip and stock it comes with vs just an AR buffer tube. Ultimately, what I like most about the Evo

Also, if you want a rifle in 9mm, why the FUCK would you get something with such a stupidly short barrel?

A 16" barrel is going to give you an extra ~200 fps with federal fmj.

A 7" is barely going to get an extra 90fps.

Fuck, even SBRing my storm would give better performance, and it's a cheaper gun.

the scorpion isn't the ultimate anything, aside form cool range toy.
>>
>>28313887
Nigger, 9mm carbines have essentially no recoil, can be relies on to 100-200 meter ranges, and for home defense, won't over penetrate much and cab be aimed and fired accurately* with one hand while shoving an attacker back or family out of the line of fire with your off hand.

Easy to suppress, too, and it's not uncommon for people to SBR them.

If DA REVOLUTION happens, expect to see politicians and police killed by people hauling storms, scorpions, or even keltecs and hipoints in laptop bags.

Because militaries actually encounter terrain and situations in which 9mm is completely useless, and as such, have massive stocks of 5.56 rifles, ammunition, magazines, and trained shooters.

If all your infrastructure is centered around one thing, you don't grab a weapon in a different caliber when the shit you already have can fill a similar role.

The differences aren't usually huge, but they're present.

I agree with you? The 9mm is useless in many situations. Hence.. why would you spend money on a 9mm sbr when you could do a 5.56?

Because you want significantly less hearing damage when you waste the creep climbing in your daughters window, and another plus is it didn't pass through him and kill the neighbors dog.

most velocity the barrel gains are actually lost by the straight blowback action of most SMGs

Because it's serviceable for every situation anyone not in the military is likely to encounter, and has a number of advantages?

How is this hard to figure out?

If you're not expecting to engage in maneuver warfare, you really shouldn't be choosing rilfes or calibers based purely on
>"BUT DA MILITARY"

>Are you likely to engage targets outside of the effective range of a 9mm carbine?
The answer is almost certainly no, unless you are planning for armed conflict, don't live in a city or developed area, and are in a part of the world that tends to be either mountainous or flat.

>are you likely to engage threats in soft armor, but not rifle plates?
If yes, you fucked up. Hard.

Outside of these two scenarios, 9mm has plenty of advantages, but the choice should come down to what you shoot better with and can acquire.

>>28316488
>it's lost
Hickok actually test this and finds that, yes, his storm is getting somewhere around an extra 200fps.

Additionally, the second chart shows real world weapons tests and lists the barrel lengths.

to sum it up-you're wrong.

A 92fs with 4.25" and a Steyr
S9 with 3.6" are used, and the difference between them and the carbines with 16" barrels is considerable.

Gains vary from round to round, of course.

Unless you're speaking in theory, and are trying to tell me that a better action would result in more gains. Sure. Doesn't change that a longer barrel helps.

>>28316492
>fine once or twice
Fuck, you're a retard.

First, no. Hearing damage is cumulative. You don't flip a switch from fine to deaf when you've had X number of decibels thrown at you over the course of you life.

Second, no, because being robbed of one of your senses in a fight is FUCKING BAD.

>>

>If you're not expecting to engage in maneuver warfare, you really shouldn't be choosing rilfes or calibers based purely on "BUT DA MILITARY"

Not a terribly concise argument. Lots of people dead from the MK18 Mod 0-1 / M4A1 CQB. Much better wounding characteristics than the 9mm.

of course a longer barrel helps
and nobody disputes that a 16" barrel gives you a higher velocity than a 5" barrel

but the topic was SBRing a 16" barrel down to whatever

and that's where the straight blowback design comes into play so you could end up having an SBR rifle with less velocity than a pistol at the same barrel lengths

Wanted it as a backpack gun, ended up trading it to my father for his chief special

>WASR-10 weight: 7lbs.
>SUB-2000 weight: 4lbs.
