>>
>>28287557
it largely depends on the colors used and huge fucking retarded pixels might make a difference
>>
>>28287541
Still not as bad as UCP.
>>
Those huge pixels are already assaulting and confusing my eyes.
How tactical.
>>
>>28287541
Jesus I thought this was just a picture someone MS painted random squares on for a second. That shit hurts my eyes so bad.

Is that why it works? Because nobody can look at it long enough to pull the trigger without screaming in pain?
>>
this would work great for invading minecraft
>>
>it took the Latvian military a decade to figure out that desert camo isn't all that suited for use in forested areas

Color me impressed.
>>
>>28287541
I actually like it, I want some for my collection.
>>
Why did they go with ACU cut? it's shit

look at that shitty as fuck vest on the left. Is it fucking 1991 again?

Goddamn foreign militaries are so embarrassing
>>
>>28287557

Pixel only works when there is an algorithm that mimics large and small shapes in nature.

In this case, looks like a bunch of shit someone made in MSPaint with no science background.
>>
>>28288751
Digital doesn't have to be pixelated, iirc digital camos use algorithms to enhance camo patterns by including both macro and micro patterns that repeat (think fractals) so that the contrast of the colours will still be effective at different distances and not a homogenous blob that is easier to spot.
>>
>>28287541
Well its hard to look at. Maybe enemy soldiers would be less likely to hit them because it makes there eyes sore?
>>
Those camos work perfectly in lativian forests in spring and autumn. In summer they stand out only in july&june and that depends on the weather and time of day. They are ugly as fuck but also effective as fuck. You just cannot see how good camo it is in some room with white walls and columns from a picture taken 5 meters from a guy wearing it.

dudes in the latvian military are pretty bro tier.

they also use the g36 which is actually light as fuck.
>>
>>28287541
This camo was actually an error

The person who created the camo accidentely saved the file in a shitty low res format

Now they are stuck with thousands of uniforms
>>
>>28289477

Those EOTechs though.
>>
>>28289517

Woodland BDU is an excellent camouflage pattern and a terrible uniform. Way too common. You don't want people to see you, but if they do see you, you want them to know who you belong to so maybe they choose not to shoot you.
>>
>>28287541
It looks like someone set the resolution too low on their printer.

>>

>>
>>28289414

Which is basically what I just said.
>>
>>28287541
Micro-pattern is non-existant, but the macro-pattern is great. Look at the thumbnail of the image, that's a decent approximation of the effectiveness of the camo at distance, say, 200m. They'd be fucking hard to spot with a decent background.
I'd say this is actually a fairly decent pattern.
It looks autistic tho.
>>
>>28287541
I can see this as being effective.
>>
I don't know shit about effectiveness, but I think it looks pretty good, honestly. But yeah, >>28288745, that vest on the left is laughable.

just like ur moms ass
>>
>>28287557
Pixel camo isn't by itself better. It's just an easier way to print and design fractal based designs, but the shapes being squares or dots (see flecktarn) does not make a difference by itself.
>>
>>28288751
It doesn't need a micropattern

It's kinda effective (then again you could run around in a tropical rainforest wearing pink bunny suit and people still can't see you past 25 yards), but damn, this shit is ugly
>>
>>28292527
It does, Digital camo is macro + micro patterns.
Pixel camo is a kind of digital camo, designed to be easier to produce.
Making a macro pattern only using pixels is worthless.

This one is better desu
>>
>>28292587
Digital camo is camoflage generated with some sort of procedural, fractal algorithm. Now, this algorithm makes it good at generating complex micropatterns to complement macro matterns, but you can theoretically create an algorithm that only generates a macropattern
>>
better

damn, everytime people write a sentence ending with "better", there's always the word desu following up
>>
>>28287541
Why do they look like they are from minecraft
>>
>>28292616
Yes, that's what I said.
A pixel macro pattern would be a 90° edge woodland.
>>
>>28289414
Actually during all the trials ive read (2 or 3 maybe) on the subject, homogenous colours beat out patterns. The use of patterns is mainly a combination of looking cool and being able to differentiate the soldiers of different nations.

This is how the similar colors would look with macro and digitally created micro patterns.
The idea is that from afar you still get the 3 shapes of colors, but for middle distances those shapes become blurry and remain effective.

american women are crazy useless in the marines.I wonder how mexican marine females compare, considering they generally grow up under harsher conditions like cartel attacks and they usually have to actually work from a young age because their family is probably poor. I remember watching a female marine get the fucking shit beat out of her by a nig nog at the mall in jacksonville, female marine started it so I just sat back and bueno'd

>and possibly ineffective camo

Main purpose of a combat uniform is to make you identifiable, so its easier to avoid unnecessary friendly fire and engage hostiles without having to confirm that they are hostiles.

As long as it has the basic colors of the area of operations it will work fine, not taking proper cover is more of an issue than lacking camouflage capabilities, and the later will also encourage the use of the other.

Anything that doesn't give you away from 300m+ or from the air is approved.
Investing in expensive camouflage uniform research is kind of a waste at this point since IR cameras will spot you any way, while just covering your head and shoulders with foliage or using a ghili suit is less expensive and more effective than a single uniform set will ever be.

There's a South African on the second row and I'm guessing the black guy at the back is too but can't see his cammies.

Guy in the white shirt is a Bong. No idea what the guy in the blue shirt is - guessing Italian because it looks fruity. Other green shirts at the back are Canadians like the short-ass one in the front.
>>
>>28292377
This isn't even necessarily true. Canada had to redo their roller printers to make sharp-edged pixels. The choice of square pixels was probably to save computational time when generating prototypes.
>>
>>28297126
>>28296992
Canadians use CADPAT, before that either OD or garrison dress.

In the picture you've got the americans in UCP which gives it a date. From left to right front row:
Flecktarn x3 (germany)
MTP (UK)
M84 on the trousers (Danish)
UCP x2 (merrica)
MTP again
DPm (dutch version, slightly lighter tone than the British version)
Jigsaw (Belgium)

Guy on far left in second row has S2000 on (South Africa)
