Kurdish culture is very close to Iranian culture with lots Western influence. Women are equal to men. There is freedom of religion/freedom of speech/ethnic minority are respected and protected. I practice Yazdânism myself. Shia/Shi'ite/Sufi Islam/Judaism/Eastern Christianity/Yazdânism/Yazidism/Yarsanism/Ishikism/Zoroastrianism/Agnosticism/Atheism are all practice and respected.

M16A2/M16A4/G36/G3/FAMAS/VHS-D/VHS-K/FAMAS/AK-47/AKM to name a few.

>>
>>28285789
From the last thread he said that you can join the YPG through the Lions of Rojava without military experience. Then they train you for combat and Kurdish language for 2 months
The pesmerge only want people with combat/military experience

When Peshmerga forces in Iraq take over towns and areas do they give them back to the original government or keep them under Kurdish government rule? Also, what is the most dominate political party in general Kurdish society.
>>
>>28285938
No, it's also the PKK and many others. The philosophy of the Kurds is for the most part centered around libertarian socialism in some form or another, officially dubbed Democratic confederalism by Abdullah Öcalan. There are differences, but for the most part it's a philosophy held around most parts of Kurdistan in Syria, Turkey and Iraq.

>>28286227
We have already gotten into a friendly fire incident with the Iraqi Army and their Militia. They attacked us a few month ago and I had to have the American JTAC with us call in CAS. I called in the mortar and artillery support. My Company commander also called in CAS when it was determined we needed more. We killed 312 of them with those simple requests and the 14 hour engagement. My Company had 11 killed. They were declared hostile forces by the JTAC and we got American CAS and then Iranian CAS for four hours. My rank was OR-6. I have been promoted 3rd LT(O-1A here). I will get that training when/if I am cleared to return to the front.

A couple of questions:

Which city/tribe/village are you from originally?

What religion do you follow?

Which Kurdish faction do you support?

Which fronts have you been fighting on the most?

Why is there so much corruption in KRG?

Answer this one honestly, is KRG competent at all? They seem to heavily rely on crippling oil and they're in deep shit economically. The peshmarga deserve all the credit, but I think in terms of governing and developing themselves, you can't count on them.

What is your hope
>>
>>28287024

I agree. Ultimately, an independent Kurdistan requires the support or at least acquiescence of Turkey. There's simply no way you could win a war against them, and you'd lose the rest of your country even trying. And even if you did somehow beat them, you'd be hobbled by the fact that they're a NATO power.

If you can find a way to square a free Kurdistan with Turkish national interests, then you're halfway there and a few steps beyond. The Arabs can't credibly stop you. The Israelis would be thrilled to see you earn your own country. I don't think Iran would or even could stop you. Those are really the only votes that matter. The rest is just timing: a question of waiting for or creating the right moment diplomatically.

The Kurds have one other advantage: like the US, you've had a couple decades of running your own affairs before winning independence.
>>
>>28287273
I'm pretty sure at this point syria and iraqi kurdistan will be able to meet and start something, but turkey will aid islamist fighters to fuck it up forever

Şaqlawe. Yazdânism. I am independent. Kerkûk and Mosûl fronts followed by Rojava. I have not seen any corruption. If it is here, it is well hidden from us. Yes, they are competent. Tfw the only memory you have of Kurdistan is a goat being slaughtered. 4 year old me wasn't supposed to see, but I was too curious.

God bless you goat, I know you're in goat heaven watching over me.

If I rock up to Sulaymaniyah/Erbil airport with a fuck tonne of military gear, is that going to be an issue? Will I be detained? I intend to join the YPG with a few other /k/ommandos (not all at once, spread out over a few days/weeks and different flight paths most likely), but we have heard that some Western YPG volunteers have been arrested at the airports and held for a couple of weeks.
I'm from a YPG friendly country so getting held up on my end isn't going to be an issue, but we are uncertain as to what might happen on the other side, do you have any info on this?

Thanks!

Are the group of /k/ommandos going over taking a go pro or something? If not, I'd volunteer to buy one for you guys ONLY under the condition that you post combat vids and pics when possible.
Hell, /k/ should even look at setting a fundme or something similar to help supply our /k/omrades fighting Daesh.
>>
>>28290157
That would be fantastic anon!
We've spoken about buying a couple but I think we're all more focused on spending money on travel and good gear to keep us alive and comfy
It'll be almost 6 months before we can start sending pics and vids back though, if you're still offering...
>>
>>28285555
What's up OP. So i don't do facebook, what's the best way to go about joining up as a foreign volunteer? Ex military, infantry and intelligence background.

Also, what's the deal with pay (if any. Its not a requirement for me) and what about leave to see my spouse?

Assuming you are legit, I have tried looking for Kurdish language lessons and found that there are a bunch of "dialects" that are really different languages. If I wanted to join the Pershmerga, which should I start learning? Kurmanji, Sorani or something else?

You guys are great but I am not sure that the readers of /k would be anything other than a liability to you without extraordinary training measures.

That post was made at 17:29 EST. Kurdistan is 8 hours ahead, so it would be 03:29. It is currently 01:12 EST, or 09:12 over there. When in that time frame would have been a good time for him to post?

OP are you in/near Erbil?
You mentioned American JTACs, how much contact do you have with Americans in uniform?
If someone shows up from /k/ how would they identify you? Ask for the guy who got shot in the junk?
>>
>>28292188
It was a couple minutes from his last post and then he went suddenly silent.
>>
>>28292289
what a shame, can any /k/ommandos fact check/verify any of the information he gave in this thread? Even if he wasn't who he said he was, his knowledge of the subject matter seemed pretty solid
>>
>>28292313
What >>28286958 said

He's been around for a while, has good knowledge of the Kurds as well as Kurdistan as a whole and only made the thread because we asked him too

Not to mention he got shot in the balls. Who the fuck would lie about that??

I'm Stoll down with the offer, do you guys have a temporary email address again? I'll send an email to that address and we can sort things out from there if you'd like, unless you have something else to suggest?

Kurd here,

Majority of Kurds speak Kurmanji. But here's guide.

Rojava(Syria Kurdistan) Speak Kurmanji

Bashur(KRG) Official dialect and the only one you'll need is Sorani (there are Kurmanji speakers but Sorani is dominant)

Rojhalat(Iranian Kurdistan) Predominantly Sorani, there are also Kurmanji and Luri dialect.

Bakur(Turkey's Kurdistan) Majority speak Kurmanji and they have a Zazaki Minority(Zazaki is a very hard dialect which is like another language)

However if you improve well, no matter which dialect you speak you'll be able to understand both.

Pink-90% Kurmanji

copfag here Any news? I'd love to finally fight for a worthy cause instead of ja'quon beat up la'princezz You have my interest.
>>
Why this love for kurds?
I live in a rural area in yuropoor and the nearest town is infested with these inbred sandniggers. 90% even share the same surname
Normally arabs and mostly turks are responsible for any trouble.
Despite the kurds hating islamists, they are by no means any better
They steal, stab and rape people here , run the local drug mafia and act like the greatest nignogs.
Hope Isis and kurds just wipe out each other
>>
>>28295546
Because they don't want to be sand niggers. They are actively fighting to remove sandniggers who want them to be sandniggers (T*rks, isis etc) from their country
>>
>>28296056
here isn't anyone who oppresses them, in fact the public cheers at them because of "muh multi culturalism!" and yet they behave like the kings of nignog sand niggerism
