I think the first movie had relatively few different ship types too. Rey was just good at everything, or got crazy good improbably fast, even before the force stuff.

Luke was a shit country bumpkin when he got found, he grew as the story progressed.
I liked Finn and Rey, though found Rey flat, and Finn felt like Black Solo meets Nathan Drake with the constant "witty banter".
Phasma was a totally pointless character besides "Womyn power". Should have had her just be a secret cameo like Daniel Craig etc.

Vader was essentially a force multiplier and tactical genius. Personally led troops on Hoth straight through Echo Base. Fucked up luke like it was nothing serious.

A had a few gripes with it. But it was still a great movie. Definitely not the best (about as good as Return of the Jedi IMO) but a great movie. Poe Dameron was easily my favorite character.
1. How powerful Rey is. She is like 100x more powerful than Anakin was and he was the Chosen One for fucks sake.
