What kind of pets can you keep in the Marine barracks?
I have a pet male African bullfrog that weighs about 3 pounds and is the size of a small dinner plate. I've had him for 9 years and he's basically family. He lives in a 10 gallon aquarium. Could I keep him in the Marine barracks?

This probably a stupid question to but cou d you keep a lock box in the barracks (like in a drawer or something). im planing on joining and heard about theft being a small problem. I wouldent have a problem opening it up for inspection or a search. (if they do that) i just want a place to keep my watch, pocket knife, and cigar collection and some spare cash

It seemed like a recurring theme. Every health and comfort I've seen they always find someone with a rice cooker, and on a field ex some people fucked up a humvee by running a rice cooker and coffee maker off the power inverter that was supposed to be used for equipment.

I've heard they can be in your car during hunting season, if you're hunting on-base. They have to be registered with PMO though. I just kept mine at a friends house off base, which was much less of a pain in the ass. If you're stationed at Lejeune you can usually find a place to shoot in the croatoan national forest.

That's a No-Go. Barracks inspections are often and not fun, having said that I've never been assigned one. You MIGHT be able to have a small plastic cage locked up in a dresser but I think heat will be a major issue.
Risky...I wouldn't recommend it, but I never skirted military law, though other did do shit kinda like that and never got caught.

At least all the bases I've been to no cannot have firearms on Base, period. Hunting is permitted on some posts, you'll have your weapon stored by base armory and have to check it out, most likely for only a certain time frame, then return it.
Don't ever get caught with one on base...Art-15 at least, possibly court martial if you're breaking other laws too, then they'll search your room.

We had a NO PETS rule on the ship, but when asked the captain said we could have pet tanks, as long as they were secured for sea. Low and Behold, one port visit, some of the engineers bought a 10 gallon tank, 25lbs of turtle food, decorations for the tank, and other various turtle needs. No turtles, but one was carrying his beach had clamshelled. No health and comfort inspections ever found evidence a turtle ever occupied the tank.
