Yes. Despite the opinions in the thread, a buckler is still a weapon. Its a kin to having any other blunt weapon.

Honestly, I would use a shield of any kind in a HD situation. have a crappy wood and scrap metal one I made that would definitely hold up against bats/machetes

What about a bulletproof buckler
may be better off having a batsuit-style bracer on your off-arm. it gives you a hardened surface for striking someone, and general stays out of the way
