Here is my PVC howitzer, it is a combustion propelled Potato gun with a barrel-through design and it does have a breach for breach loading. The gun is mounted on a turret assembly and a wheeled base. Everything is designed to be taken apart for storage and to be taken apart for upgrades. The barrel diameter is 2" and the total barrel length is 6'. The barrel and combustion chamber design is the only one I've ever seen where the barrel run through the combustion chamber for simple breach loading, How the potato is propelled from the combustion is by a bunch of holes drilled through the the barrel at the end inside the cumbustion chamber. The wheels are 13" wheelbarrow wheels. I plan on making some specialty rounds other than a potato, For example I intend on making a SABOT round.

You really don't need a plan for this guys, it's really just a souped up potato gun, the wheeled base and turret is designed to clamp on to any 4" or less PVC piping. The only thing that isn't PVC are the wheels and the nuts and bolts for the wheel's axle. You just need a bunch of PVC, wheel barrow wheels, bolts, nuts, washers, igniter, and that's about it! I designed the gunn and turret assembly to where the center of gravity stays on or slightly behind the axle. The yaw portion of the turret is supported by the top and bottom of the axle of the wheeled base so it can survive recoil and transport. I was too lazy to modify some T PVC pipe fittings to use as a hinge, I ordered a couple of 1" hinge fitting off a online furniture PVC pipes and fittings store.

Do you have any other pics? I kind of want to see the inside of the breech, as I want to replicate that part of your design.
Here is a comparison image with my old potato gun, you can kind of look inside and see how the design works.
The remaining part of the barrel sticks out about an inch out of the back, you put on a 2" coupler then add a 2" female adapter, then use a 2" drain plug as the breech, nothing fancy really.

I remember making an airgun out of 2 feet of PVC pipe, a garden dual-tap adapter, a 2L soda bottle, and a bicycle pump.
Damn thing could put marbles through half an inch of plasterboard at twenty yards, operating at like, 50 psi.
That was when I was 14, now I'm tempted to make something a lot more refined.
Ever built one with 3" diameter bore? Fires canned goods (wrapped in duct-tape to ensure snug fit) pretty damned fast. Can use empty cans for a sort of shot-cup if shotguns are your thing.

I've actually never played the USA- or any major, for that matter- seriously. The OOB is too daunting, the scale too massive; I've been trying to just scoot along the learning curve slowly by playing low-to-mid-tier nations with very narrow and very limited objectives, like Spain and the like. I once played a game as China, but unfortunately I got a save game corruption shortly after pushing the Japanese off the Chinese mainland.
Sure did learn a lot from that game, though... namely the importance of having an airforce, and how bitter a thing it is to have to spend manpower instead of planes when you don't. That was a funny game, because they actually managed to take Hawaii when the Pearl Harbor event popped.

As a major power, the mod more or less plays itself, although it dumps the tedium of OOB organizing in your lap. USA games are especially unfun, since the Allied AI takes that as a signal to just phone it in and let the Nips/Krauts run roughshod over everything. Seriously, in my most recent campaign, Nationalist China folded in two years, the Brits lost not only Malaya and Burma (as they historically did), but also half of India and all of Northern Ireland. Yeah, they got flailed pretty hard by the IJN, got their shit pushed in by the Regia Marina and lost Malta, and then Seelowe happened. The Germans actually had a toehold in Scotland for a little while as well, but the Brits eventually pushed them out.

What is the best fuel for these things these days? Used to to be hairspray or WD40 but they changed the propellant gas and the formula of WD-40 so now it works like shit.
Hairspray is still uses propane for propellant, most commonly it's Aqua Net but the downside with hairspray is that it leaves behind a residue, Static Remover spray has the same propellant and it doesn't leave behind a residue but from my experience it seems like hairspray is a little more powerful than Static Remover spray.
