I've been thinking bout getting into yote hunting in SoCal. What do you do with the animal once you've killed it? Take the hide and waste the meat?

Private land in NC. Live on a large acreage of land, surrounded on most sides by large expanses of Wildlife property. I wouldn't bother shooting them however, they're encroaching on my chickens and dogs. They're also fucking with the wild turkey that have taken up residence. Hogs are slowly encroaching and they're next on the bag out back list.

I keep the hides for personal hand woven handy crafts. Though I've been collecting squirrel tails to send to Mepp's for spinners. It'll be my first go at that though.

I've been trying for a few years, but I don't get to go much and I kinda suck at it. Doesn't help hat TN has kinda shit laws when it comes to predator hunting.

It depends. If I'm clearing the bastards out of my uncles place I use a 30-30 because you rarely get shots longer than 100 yards in the woods out there, but if I'm clearing them out at my Grandmother's place I use a Tikka T3 in .270 because the shortest shots you get on the things are about 250 yards out on the plains.
