produces ammonium chlorate, a very mild irritant. not too sure if it lets off clouds of smoke though.

Not him, but to figure that out you'd have to figure out the number of grams of NH4CL produced by your reactants, then use gas laws to figure out the volume it occupies at 1 atmosphere of pressure and the environment's temperature. Easy to do if you've got a background in chemistry, but if you're some chucklefuck following an internet diagram you're going to need more instruction... which I'm not providing and don't recommend that anyone else do either.

Also a minor nitpick, that isn't ammonium chlorate, it's ammonium chloride. And it's an explosive especially when combined with potassium chlorate to actually make ammonium chlorate. On it's own it's mostly just flammable.

Tested it a few months back. Makes a decent cloud of smoke, but its not the solid opaque cloud that a professionally made one puts out.
Packed a toilet paper tube with the stuff and used some cannon fuse leading to a tiny pocket of unpacked black powder held in place with a cotton ball soaked in a saltpeter mixture stuffed on top of it.
Burned like a road flare for like, 15 seconds and filled my yard with some smoke. Like I said, you could still see through it though, not REAL impressive.
I guess if I had one get tossed into a closed room I was stuck in I would be moderateley irritated for about 2 minutes because it smells kinda bad.

Dude, really? From these drawings, this wouldn't work. If you look at the cuts on the bottom left figure you can see that the tard who designed it put the wrong angle on the pivot point. This would make the weapon bend up at your face if you attempted to level the piece of crap. Jesus at least proof your design concepts before you dump shit online, people.
