What's you opinion on pistol caliber carbines?
What are some good ones?

I've been thinking of picking up a Kel Tec Sub-2000 sometime in the future, will I have trouble getting places to sell me 9mm as long as I'm under 21?
>>
>>28251578
I just tell them it's for a rifle.

Also, I wish they made the sub2000 in more calibers.
>>
>>28251581
Doesn't stop places in my (not OP) state from demanding ID all the same.
>>
>>28251645
OP here, I'm from Missouri. I haven't tried, but I feel like people wouldn't have a problem, they don't even ID me buying ammo, and I'm a baby-faced 19 year old.

They are criminally under-utilized due to the silliness of the SBR section of the National Firearms Act

In their proper short barrel configuration, PPC are excellent home defense weapons. Sadly, the NFA has ruined pistol caliber carbines for almost everyone. If they were easier to obtain, semi-auto SMG would be very popular home defense weapons. They combine the stability of a rifle with the compact profile of a pistol.
>>
>>28251843
Do they come in non-waffle pattern?
>>
>>28252720
Perfect weapon imho. If its not SBR then might as well get an AR or AK
>>
>>28251578
Just buy ammo online from places that aren't homo.

Freedom Munitions, SGAmmo, etc.
>>
>>28252723
waffle pattern is kind of the trademark of keltec, next to never being in stock and having lots of bugs
>>
>>28251578
Sub2K is fucking badass but unfortunately like all Kel-Tec long guns it's woefully under produced. Because KT doesn't make enough the prices always seem to be gouged.

Why not roll with an AR in 9mm? Build one yourself or buy a complete rifle from Bud's or something.

>What's you opinion on pistol caliber carbines?
They're a lot of fun to shoot, they're accurate and they make recoil a non-issue. Even calibers known for a heavier recoil are very easy to control in carbine format.

>What are some good ones?
Mechtech makes carbine uppers for Glock, 1911, and XD lowers, which is handy. I also really like the feel of the Beretta Cx4.
>>
>>28251660
As a man from Missouri, I love my sub 2000.
>>
>>28251578
what about the chiappa m1-9 carbine? is it any good? its pretty cheap
>>
>>28251578
Man i wish we had i could have a side inserting magazine for a sub 2000.
>>
>>28251578
The Sub2000 is so easy to shoot my noguns wife was getting consistent headshots on the second magazine.

The Rossi puma in 357 magnum is also pretty easy to shoot and the muzzle energy is nuts.

I just got an MK760 and haven't shot it yet, but the thing looks vicious and the steel construction probably cuts the 9mm recoil to nothing. Suomi magazines with the nubs and back plate filed down fit as well. I'm putting a qwik point red dot on it for maximum 70s power.

>>28253345
They're reported to have lots of issues with feeding/ejection honestly if you want an m1 get a gi

Most civilian models can't get it right for some reason

I have only had problems once buying 40 s&w for my sub2000 and I'm 19
The guy went and talked to his manager for a few minutes to make sure it was legal (manager said ys) and I offered to show him pictures of my sub2k on my phone and he said sure.
>>
>>28253858
And low capacity, sadly. If they made 30-round .45 mags I'd buy one immediately.
>>
>>28253704
well that sucks but i need to buy a couple of pistols anyway. i wonder out of the 700000 surplus m1 carbines worst korea has what percentage are serviceable. id wade through tables with a bore light to find a couple of good ones for 175 a pop

I am waiting for this to come out in 2016.

Maybe down the road when I have more money I can deal with the NFA stuff to SBR and suppress it so the overall length will be shorter while still being quieter than stock form.

Should I get a folding vertical grip on my Sub 2000 for extra folding?
>>
>>28253970
I also have this, and its pretty fun to shoot. 1200 rounds in with basic cleaning. So far no issues
>>
>>28252723

2nd gen ones look a little different.

The handguard can be replaced on both with aftermarket, I believe.

I want the grippy...

I love my Px4 and Cx4 9mm combo. I just need to find some stick mags. Stupidly fun and easy to shoot. Feels like you are a space cowboy.

Only complaint would be the buttstock. They could have had it flip open for storage or even had two mag wells.

That would be awesome. Also they need to make 30rnd px4 mags.
