Does anyone on /k/ own any AIA rifles? I just purchased one of pic related, AIA M10-A1.

It's a Lee Enfield chambered in 7.62x39 and it uses AK magazines. I haven't received it in the mail yet, and i've been trying to do some research about AIA online but can't find much information about them at all. Anyone know what years these guns were in production, and roughly how many are out there?

Also, general Enfield discussion I suppose.

They literally vanished off the face of the earth in six months.

I think the ceo killed a hooker.

I have the weirdest boner.
I'm wondering how easy it would be to make one of these on my own...

You got the tooling to build receivers?

I'm curious about these as well. I'd like one in 308.

Saw one at a fun show for about 700 CAD a couple years ago. I thought it was cool but way too expensive. I'm guessing they're fetching close to 1000 CAD now. Kinda ridiculous for an Enfield imo

They were only available here in the US for a few months, years ago. My local gun store had one, I considered picking it up, but put it off for a few weeks. When I went back to get it, it was gone and they were cut off.

Overall quality appeared very nice. I'm sure they're neat little shooters.

No, but I do have access to woodworking stuff and friends who can build receivers. It'd be a big project. I wonder how easy it would be to juryrig a .308 enfield into accepting AR10 mags.

Also I'm bubba incarnate, and could probably figure something out.

You've got better luck finding one of the 7.62x51 conversions that DCRA did after WW2 to the No4 than trying to find an AIA Enfield. In the last 5 or 6 years I've seen exactly 4 for sale in Canada.

You'd have better luck with M14 mags. That's atleast the specs that AIA .308 mags go with, as guys up here use AIA mags on their M14's for more fun.

>brass, just cuz

What would I have better luck finding in Canada? an Enfield or K98 mauser converted to 7.62x51? I want a military rifle ideally in that caliber

Ishapore 2A1 are Mk III* rifles purpose built in 7.62x51 in the early 1960s.

The Israelis rebuilt a bunch of K98s into 7.62x51 in the late 50s.
