Need help on deciding... Should I get a PPK/S or PPK variant or a S&W Shield in 9mm. What are the pros and cons?
Shield: Arguably the best polymer carry gun currently. Great ergonomics and accuracy, but terrible looks.
PPK: God damn sexy as fuck holy shit I'd suck off herpes-ridden cocks for one. I heard (may not be true) the .380 versions have some reliability issues.
I know Sig has the P232 which I think looks better than the PPK, and is reliable.

The S&W contracted ppk/s had LOTS of reliability issues, especially if you try feeding it anything other than ball ammo.
I ditched mine for an Interarms built PPK and never looked back.

Top of the heap classic vs bottom of the barrel trend.. Get the ppk, and if you want plastic go pps or 43. Shield is about as big as a glock 26 which is far superior.
get the ppks in 380
7+1 capacity, gun's got a bigger grip, just comfier gun all around.
Op here. Sounds like the ppks a favorite. Is there a downside to the 380 tho?

if you like the PPK/S consider the bersa thunder, It's cheaper and more reliable and still looks sexy.
I am thinking about picking up a cc version when I eventually get the money

I was looking at one today because my local gun stores didnt have the ppks at all. My last bet is on a gun show that's gonna be around on Sunday, otherwise no one local has the ppks which is why I'm looking at the shield as an alternative.

Old S&Ws did. New ones eat everything after a break in and good oiling. I shoot MagTechs, HSTs, Buffalo Bore, and a multitude of cheap HP of all pressures and have only had 1 jam with HST in the first 100 rounds I fired through the gun.
OP if you are looking for a new one it may be tough to come upon one in a store. Walther has ended relations with S&W and will be making their own stateside in their own factory. Nobody knows when the release is. I'm curious if they will have the beavertail or not.

380 fmj has less penetration than 32 fmj, and the magazine holds one less round (7+1 v 8+1)
hollowpointed ammo 380 punches a bigger hole, so there's that.

>.32>.380 fmj
Why is this?
>>28248147
>why does a needle have better penetration than a wooden spoon?
>>28247002
S&W stopped importing the PPK for Walther, so now I think Walther is going to start importing the PPK again themselves.
Don't know if they still make the PPK in .32 ACP, I've only seen the new ones in .380 ACP or .22 Long Rifle.

It just seems like .380 would go faster and have more kinetic energy
>>28248239
It's still wider, surface area kills penetration
>>28248391
So .380>10mm
>>28248399
And 22LR > 50BMG
>>28248399
No because there us a bigger difference in energy between .380 and 10mm than .32 and .380
>>28247002
i have a ppk/s and i am thinking about selling it and buying a ppk really if you want a small single stake 380 there are better options you get a ppk beacuse they are fun
>>28247002
since 380 acp sucks, get a p64. still sexy, but mak rounds are a little more potent.
Get an original PPK in 7.65 Browning and be a true hipster.
get a bersa thunder 380
Get a p64, it's like a walther but not Muslim.

That is a great CC piece, I don't care what you say
