Imagine that you could only have one handgun for HD/CC/general defensive applications.
What would you go with and why?

Hard/International mode: no AK/AR "pistols".

1911 Fuddy .45

Honestly, Just because I'm so familiar with the gun. It might not be the best in the world, but it's what I'm most comfortable carrying, concealing, and operating.

It all comes down to what your good with. Don't listen to anyone that tells you otherwise.

Good, another gun is just another fucking gun. It probably wont do anything yours doesnt.

You should have expected this OP. Fucking boring motherfuckers all of you. Vanilla pudding. You all drive Honda Civics and eat plain potato chips.

I am trying to decide this myself. Either a 1911, a Sig P226 in 9mm, an HK P30LS V3 in 9mm, or HK USP (not sure if 9mm or .45).

The P238 is awful. The sear on mine is stamped such that there's an edge that drags and creates an heavy, gritty trigger pull. I'd take a Glock trigger over a P238, and that's saying a LOT. I can't imagine the P239 is any better.

Lots and lots of things "work." I've never understood why Glockfags say this. Reliability is almost pointless to discuss in 2015. We are having to fire our pistols underwater and fill them with clay to get them to malfunction. This is true of all major manufacturers: Glock, Sig, Beretta, HK, Springfield, Colt, and on and on.

I just think using a Glock is kind of like eating those SOS food rations for every meal for the rest of your life. Yeah it keeps you alive............. but that's it.

Mine doesn't do anything of the sort, and the trigger is far better than a Glock's.

Why is it garbage? I think it's a pretty good gun, only problem with it is the small magazine but it makes up for it in speed
>>
>>28247943
>Fucking boring motherfuckers

Glock 18c then, op didn't put a limit on rarity or how hard it would be to own.

I've heard it's surprisingly controllable for a machine pistol once you learn how the recoil feels, can be carried with a normal 17 round mag just like the average Glock, and extra ones on me as 33 round mags, also detachable shoulder stock, but I doubt that can easily be concealed.

the supposedly already managable kick from the fire rate probably isn't a huge issue at self defense ranges.

For night sights thats allright. I payed 550 for mine which is the non-night sight model but I definitely could have found it for cheaper. Really I would recommend the P-07 instead, the P-09 is just unnecessarily huge. But other than that it's been great, but I think it may still be a little hard finding holsters.

I can't decide between this and a 1911. I know they are almost completely different but I love both of them. I am so sick of small guns.

The P226 is no doubt a more effective weapon but concealing it would be a fuckin bear. 1911 is so slim. Plus it has a thumb safety and I like thumb safeties.

My G26 in full fde. Ironically last range day it became a jam o matic and was stovepiping, failure to extract, failure to ejecting left and right. Kinda stumped. Hopefully just bad batch of ammo.
I used to hate glocks and carried a Para p13, but it's too heavy and flashy to conceal.
I bought this sight unseen, took it to the range and loved it. I finger fuck it daily.

Maybe try a different magazine too. Also is the barrel aftermarket by any chance? My Glock 30 rarely if ever jams with the stock barrel but I put a KKM match barrel in it and it jams once or twice per magazine.

Funny because I have really fallen out of love with Glocks. Hate pretty much every interface with it. Grips, mag release, slide stop, trigger, the takedown, everything. Hold an HK USP or P30 in a gun store and make sure to pack extra pants after getting used to Glocks.

>>
>>28254888
I know but what attracts me to the P226 is that besides being full-sized and hammer-fired the Mec gar 18-round flush mags and the 20-round extended/plus 2 base plates. Also it has a nice trigger IMO.

What attracts me to the 1911 is slimness, ergos, the redundant safeties, the nice trigger and capability of shooting accurately at longer ranges (for a pistol). The P226 is just chunky and fat.
>>
>>28255170
Stock barrel, tried my spare mag and a g17 mag and still happened. It only has 4-500 rounds through it but still, I wtfed hard.

I can agree with you on the mag release being hard to get to and utilize but I'm currently over compensating that it's ok due to my Para releasing mags while CC'ing, it freaked me the fuck out. The slide stop is lackluckster but I consider it a non problem to operate and prefer the slimline'ness (dasssa word) of it to be kinda nice. Talon grips gave me a nice barrier between the plastic and my baby smooth hands.
I will check out your recommendations next time I do my rounds at the LGS.
