Have a good friend that was a SEAL and BUD/S instructor for the last few years of his enlistment, he was in 12 years or so. He told me that the enlisted instructors took great pleasure in ripping a new asshole into every officer BUD/S student. The officers only got one shot and were expected to lead from the beginning, so they were under extra scrutiny and got smoked hard at any little fuckup.

Actually, as an NCO, you're in charge of taking care your your squad/platoon. If you feel that your men are far too tired/exhausted to be performing additional tasks/duties, it is your duty to inform the chain of command that your men simply cannot take on any more tasks.
The Army/marines/whatever may be strict, but they don't overwork their men. The last thing you want is 3 guys fainting/falling asleep on duty because some dipshit butterbar thought the base didn't look pretty enough.

Nope. TC is simply "Truck Commander" or "Tank Commander." (Definition changes slightly for other vehicles). This falls on the highest ranking guy in the truck (from the unit that owns the vehicle, so you dont have convoys being lead by med officers).
Keep in mind that NCO's are often used to replace Officers when there isn't one. Fpr example at a range there has to be an OIC and NCOIC. I have been the OIC with a SGT as the NCOIC.

Officerfag here (Academy grad even), and if I'm wrong, especially in a dangerous or unsafe manner I want to be called on it, so I can get fucking right. I'd prefer it be done in private for a minor violation, but for something as egregious as flagging a whole firing line with a loaded weapon, an public as chewing like that would not only be justified, but necessary so everyone can see just how important weapon safety is. Any officer who thinks differently on this one is letting their pride get in the way of their ability to do their fucking job.
