Missile launchers and APCs as well

So what's the deal with the G36, is it a good rifle? Were reports of melting overblown?
>>
It's good enough to fuck with Turkey. So I'm good with it.

It seems like it isn't really bad. The Germans used the damn thing for 20 years, after all.. But the German fetish for heavy rifles continues and they are ordering HK 417 to issue to some units as a replacement.

Kurdistan Nationalist could do a hell of a lot worse then the G36 though. Good luck to them carving off bits of Syria, Iraq, Turkey and Iran.
>>
>>28242179
to bad we have all these import restrictions now. The American civilian market should be the world's service rifle retirement home.

What kind of missile launchers and APCs? Also they've been sending them G36s since last year.
>>
So... is it Germany/Turkey proxy war now?

So many proxy wars... War has changed.
>>
>>28242367
It's not really a proxy war. The Germans do make the Kurds pinkey swear they won't shoot Turks in Turkey with the weapons they get from Germany, like other guns to Kurds programs it's mostly a feel-good move for politicians to say they are Doing Something about Wahhabist.

That said, guns to Kurds is guns to Kurdistan, and Turkey is super pissed at how much support and training they've gotten already. With good reason, given the possibility of Kurdistan peeling off a valuable chunk of Anatolia if it ever gets off the ground.
>>
>Germany dumping G36s on Kurds
Kurds dumping G36s on to black market
>>
>>28242398
Maybe a few... but they need guns man. The Kurds, and others on their side (Arab Muslims, Christians, Zoroastrians, and especially the Yazidis) are in a war of annihilation with ISIL.

If they lose, they will become slaves, kinda something they take seriously.

I doubt it, from what I've seen the Peshmerga are basically using everything they're getting and all that they've got in the fighting.
>>
>>28242398
Fuck nigger, they aren't throwing them off the back of a truck to anyone that wants them in Afrin.

It's guns to Peshmerga in Iraq and they come with German instructors to cover training and maintenance. There's some corruption and losses because what are you going to do, it's a fucking military in the middle east, but the Peshmerga need guns more then they need cash.

25 April: 70 tons of German arms and equipment, including 20 MILAN anti-tank guided missile launchers, 150 gripstocks for Panzerfaust 3 light anti-tank weapons, 2 Dingo mine resistant vehicles, and 3 military ambulance vehicles, as well as medical supplies, training weapons, spare parts, and 1,000 gas masks.

2 May: 6 million rounds of ammunition for G36 and G3 assault rifles, 1 Dingo mine resistant vehicle, 2 military ambulance vehicles, and medical equipment and supplies.

12 May: About 61 tons of ammunition, consisting of 300 MILAN anti-tank guided missiles, 1,392 rounds for Panzerfaust 3 light anti-tank weapons, 120,000 tracer rounds for G3 assault rifles, and 5,000 hand grenades

13 May: 77 tons of ammunition, consisting of 1,812,000 rounds for G36 assault rifles, 580,000 rounds for G3 assault rifles, 508,800 rounds for MG3 machineguns, 908 rounds for Panzerfaust 3, and 60 illumination rounds for Carl Gustav recoilless rifles

28 May: 56 tons of military equipment and supplies, including 2,000 helmets, 3,000 gas masks and filters, 2,000 pairs of combat shoes, 500 binoculars, and 30 pieces of mine detection equipment, plus equipment and supplies for the German training contingent in Irbil.

For people that were curious and wanted the information without having to read Nazi.

That is a fuck of a Christmas list.

Where are the rails? Where is the new flashider? why they`re using transparent mags? And why is the same old stock?

Im just saying that they gave them surplus garbage that lied abandoned in some forgotten storage, what kind of advantage is this rifle supossed to give over the AK?
>>
>>28242179
I didn't really like it that much. Not particularly comfortable and quite front heavy and bulky I found. I'm used to using the L85 so that might be why I felt like the weight was all in the wrong place but I didn't have this problem with the M16 which I found amazingly pointable and comfy.

Interesting. From what I've seen they've been using the Dingos quite extensively, this one was one of the first vehicles into Sinjar when they liberated it.
>>
It is if you're still rocking the original one. In other words, the military apparently still ran around with 20 year old rifles that never got upgraded. No other country is complaining as far as I know.

Anyways, I really wish they would stay out of this and fix this fucking country instead. There are enough problems, no need to create another one.

adding to this: Iraqi Kurds are strapped with cash right now from their oil exports to Turkey. They could probably buy better weapons than these if they were allowed to directly requisition them.

We wouldn't have to help Turkey, but it makes being allies with the Kurds a very difficult thing to accomplish, politically. Especially when Turkey could spin it as the Kurds being the aggressors- not like they're short on Kurdish terrorism to point to.

The conclusion reached on the investigation is that the G36 performs like an assault rifle.

That is, if you repeatedly fire a bunch of magazines out of it on full auto you can damage it. This is why there is a distinction between assault rifles and light machine guns/support weapons.

The report was retarded and use conditions unrealistic for any regular assault rifle.

Kurdistan is the dream and there is a nationalistic bent to it, with the idea that Kurds deserve to have a homeland where their lanauge, culture and beliefs are respected.

That could be achieved with semi-autonomous areas, but that seems to only be as good as the current party in power's promises.

Restructures are underway to make unified Pêşmerge and Zeravani Pêşmerge. I am officer candidate for new unified force. We fight with YPG a lot. Almost always a support brigade and combat brigade in Rojavayê. No advance weapons in Rojavayê though. If Daesh capture any it could really piss Turkey off. PKK when and where needed. They follow their own command structure.

Well its more accurate for starters, but the idea is that now they're all using a consistent rifle, delivering them ammunition will be easier since its a standard NATO caliber.

We are going to NATO standard. All Soviet/Warsaw/Yugoslav weapon being replaced except Tank and AFV. That going to YPG or to be sold on firearm market if surplus.

>>28254470
That's what I figured, from what I've read and seen, the Peshmerga had been using mixed equipment for a while and it makes it harder to deliver basic goods like magazines and ammunition since half the squad is using slavshit and the other half M16s and the like.

It will take many years to replace Soviet for NATO weapons. 450,000 total Pêşmerge have to get NATO weapons and train with.
