This hardware here is a HK91 7.62x51 NATO beast. It chews through steel plate targets like paper.

What happened to all the unique looking weapons? All anyone makes anymore is ar15s.
>>
>>28103198
They decided roller delayed blow-back was SO 20th century and made more modern guns.
>>
But ar15s are a dime a dozen. Booooooring
>>
>>28103317
That's why they made piston ar-15s.

I like hk but I really can't see myself actually buying any of their guns apart from an mp5 clone.

They're pretty based tbqh.
>>
>>28103330
I mean, how else would they be able to ask the outrageous price for them?
>>
I must be the only one who likes the navy trigger group better than the steel one.

roller-delayed blowback proponents all got lead poisoning from all that shit they had to clean from their actions.

HK telescoping stocks are some OK, some not ok. The cheek weld is acceptable. Not sure how that buttstock is. The ones that are curved the other way feel like total shit
>>
>>28103634
I actually rattle canned mine in about that exact pattern.
>>
Since there is an HK91 in the OP, I'll ask here.

Century C308 or PTR-91? Is there really a measurable difference in quality?
>>
>>28103198
That's really sexual OP.

>Century C308 or PTR-91? Is there really a measurable difference in quality?

Yes. Century's welds and parts used are rough, and at some point they've ground down bolt heads to artificially change bolt gap to appear in-spec, instead of timing it correctly from the start as they should have, or just using correct rollers.
>>
>>28104117
So, typical shit CAI quality?
It was featured on the cover of the "Military Surplus" mag this month, and the author praised it to the point of shilling.
Had to figure the low price compared to a PTR was for a good reason.

If you can find a CETME/C308 that was built with a correctly timed barrel and clean, solid welds, the go for it. Check the headspace with some feeler gauges, or buy the receiver without the internals and buy HK or PTR internals afterwards.

Lot of functional C93/CETME/C308's out there that shoot fine, but Century definitely does not make it to my list of consistently good brands to willingly seek out.

I should be asleep, but since you offered...
Do you have an opinion of the Springfield SAR8 as for how it stacks up to other offerings?
>>
>>28104376
Cast aluminum receiver made in the US, built with imported Greek-made parts.

The Greek stuff is fine, the earlier SAR 3's are about 1:1 to the German made guns in quality and compatibility, but the SAR 8 receiver is out of spec and some report stretching after high round counts due to different materials and design used versus real steel stampings. The Federal Arms 91 is the same thing, also using a cast alum receiver.

tl;dr don't unless you want to collect, seek out a SAR-3 for $900-1100 or get a PTR.

Additionally if it's just a SAR 3 with an 8 overstamp, then it's going to be fine. Greek-made and imported by Springfield.
>>
>>28103695
It isn't the fluted chamber, the flutes just leave carbon streaks down the walls. (Though people see the streaks and assume its bad) The problem is on extraction it can tear shells up pretty bad some times.

I miss my old Cetme

Dad bought it for me when I was 15 or 16
I got some OD furniture from the local fudd store. Made it look like a G3. I bought a bunch of aluminum G3 magazines and filed them down to fit and feed. Sold the rifle and magazines for $800 at a gun show.

I miss that rifle. It was cool. Pictures of it are long gone, on my old high school desktop.

Not for long.

Assault rifles are a passing fad. The SCAR shall pave the way for the new era of battle rifles.

The "fad" has lasted over 50 years and isn't showing any sign of going away, and there's no sign of anyone re-adopting battle rifles. 5.56 is going last a few more decades before we move to something even smaller. Stay mad, 308fags
