You might want to think about new springs if it doesn't run well. I have one. They are not high quality guns. Cool nonetheless.

Shitload of Ruby's ended on Gunbroker today. Same seller for all of 'em. Thought about bidding on a few but my gun funds are a bit low and I think I'm done with the fucking things for a while.

They're starting to get too pricey. Guess people realized that they were good value for all-steel guns with a respectable ammo count.

>>28084391

You don't even need the stars for that example. The rivet confirms it's a war-era. Rivet was used because of some complaints with holsters snagging or something like that IIRC. Too drunk to look it up

I got one with a broken firing pin like the back part where the hammer hits would anyone buy it or should I see if I can get it fixed

It was issued by the French armory in WWI (Stars on the bottom)
And it was taken back either by the person it was issued to or as a trophy, because it escaped the post-war rivet modification that was done to prevent the safety from engaging when drawn from a holster
Pic related, mine and my dad's that both escaped the same fate (Though mine was found in a lake about 40 years ago, but a lot of elbow grease and a duracoat and it works just fine)
>>
>>28084836
It'd either be a relatively easy fix or incredibly hard, it depends on how interchangeable parts are between that manufacturer and other Ruby's/1903's

Won pic related a few months ago from an auction. I found a few parts were warped when i took it apart (made it a fucking bitch to get back together), and the bolt doesn't seem to snap forward on its own after pressing the magazine spring down without being nudged. Hopefully it won't be to expensive a fix.

I'm not new to funs, but I don't know shit about antique guns. I think it would be cool to pick one up at a gunshow, but I don't know how to identify authentic ones that would also be decent to pick up.

Is there as easy way to do this -- like a basic rule, or would I have to do a lot of research to prior to knowing what's decent?

Antique? You mean milsurp?

Grandpa traded gin and cigarettes for this in France and gave it to me after my mom got sick. It sat in the attic for 55 years un-oiled and in its leather holster. No gross import marks. I've posted this picture 100 times.

>tfw your grandpa had all liberal sons and skipped a generation so it could remain in conservative hands
>>
I don't get why so many people on /k/ are interested in these guns. I mean, it's neat to have a large and diverse collection, but there are much cooler C&R's out there.
>>
>>28085818
I've always wondered, what the fuck does each one of those levers do? Is the lever on the slide just a decocker or does it really have two safeties which each must be flipped off to fire?

Anybody have any experience with the FN 1900? I feel like it would be an important gun to have in a collection, but it looks ugly as can be.
>>
>>28085842
The slide mounted lever is a decocker, the one on the frame is a disassembly lever that holds the slide back for dissasembly. This was removed in la terrible pistols. I find it helpful in disassembly though.

From what I've heard it was designed for cavarly use and to be carried at half cock and one handed.

I meant "in later pistols". What the fuck is my autocorrect French?

Guess this works since antiques.

Been looking for a Kriegsmarine dirk and found one that's not a huge amount, but it has an irregularity I want to ask for anyone who may know if it means anything.

The dirk has no maker manufacturer's mark. Does this denote anything in particular, and how does it affect the value?

It was the (at the time) new "gun blue" color
Once you look close you can see the mad pitting going on, and once nice thing I will say about that coating is that it's durable as all fuck.
Between that and the fact that it's so small I can pocket-carry it, I use it as my deer-stand pistol

>>28092843
I've had my eye on it since I was 7. I'm also getting his old 870 from when he was with the police, and a Marlin Model 39A .22 lever action. I also look at the double barrels, one says "New york Machine" and "Laminated Steel", and the other says "laminated steel" and "Belgium" crudely stamped on it. If anyone could help out, it'd be appreciated
